We found Shoal Bay Villas to be an extremely comfortable place to stay. The Villas are not luxurious but provide everything you would need for a simple self-catering holiday. We took the "Penthouse", which had two large spacious rooms (bedroom and kitchen/living) together with a spacious bathroom and balconies beachfront and overlooking the pool at the back of the property.... more

We spent a wonderful week in Anguilla at this small but very pleasant hotel. Shoal Bay Villas has an ideal location on Shoal Bay Beach, which, in my opinion, is the most beautiful beach on the island. The hotel provides very comfy lounge chairs on the beach, and we never had a problem getting a chair. The rooms were clean... more

Shoal Bay Villas met all of our expectations based on the reviews we had read. I was there with my wife and 14 yr old son and 12yr old daughter. The facility is small, not fancy but is clean and well run. We stayed in the Penthouse suite which is right in the middle of the complex. Air conditioning only... more

Our first time to Anguilla we did not know what to expect having spent the first week across the way in St. Martin. Everyone kept referring to Anguilla as relaxed and mellow and compared to St. Martin - it truly is. Shoal Bay Villas are about as simple as you can get - relatively nice rooms, pleasant staff and very... more

My hubby and I (both mid-30s) stayed at Shoal Bay Villas for a week in May and had a magnificent experience there and on the island of Anguilla as a whole! We started our trip off in St. Martin, where we spent two nights at the Alamanda Resort, then hopped the ferry over to Anguilla for a full week. It... more

We just returned from a week at SBV (June 5-12). The Hotel is very nice, clean, well appointed, yet modest. They offer the use of: books, sunscreen, snorkel gear, rafts and the rooms had full kitchens with stove, microwave, blenders and toasters. The Staff was exceptional: our maid was wonderful and we rented a car from Ronnie (very convenient). The... more

I am very tempted to tell you that you should not go to Shoal Bay Villas and that you should not visit Anguilla. I plan to go again as soon as possible and it would be great if this island and condo unit stayed so private. But I have to tell the truth and hope it just doesn’t get too... more

We just returned from a week-long stay at SBV. We stayed on the second (top) floor, and our villa was very clean and spacious. It is not perfection (a small ant problem in the kitchen/abruptly changing water temperature in the shower), but it is a nice place to stay. It is a very casual and comfortable atmosphere. Everything is very... more

Located right on an amazing beach, SBV is a small, self-catering hotel in Anguilla. Our beachside studio was spacious and clean, with a fully-equipped kitchen for preparing meals. The high season rate is rather steep for this modest place, but we think that is a function of its location and Anguilla itself. Some details were lacking: the bed was not... more

When my girlfriend and I were planning our first trip to Anguilla we had narrowed our choices down to several hotels on various beaches in Anguilla. We chose Shoal Bay Villas actually because of a negative review in which we read. Of course, with some bad reviews you take it with a grain of salt, but this one was different.... more
