I eat at the Rock regularly as I'm lucky enough to live nearby. It's by far the best little pub for drinks and food in the area. Home cooked food which never disappoints and friendly staff. Very often there's a live pianist which creates a lovely ambience and the free tapas on the bar on Fridays is a really nice... More

Visited this pub a week ago. Although we live local we always seem to travel towards the city for food. This time we were glad we decided to choose local. Fantastic staff who are very welcoming, we were a tad early for food so we were offered a drink in the "snug" which was very, umm, snug! Lol Great menu... More

Visited with eleven others. Food was excellent and served very efficiently and quickly. Would recommend this place to everyone. It is well worth a visit. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Friendly waiting staff and bar staff always smiling.

First visit was as a works lunch, now go there most Thursdays with my wife. Always a good menu with a variety of meals and they also do bitburger alcohol free lager. This is not fast food and is well worth the wait

Have been here quite a few times over the years, always been happy with the service and quality of food served. The beers are always well presented ( I love real ale) and all in all a very clean and presentable place. The owners are very approachable having travelled extensively but I did find the one bar person quite aloof,... More

We visited the Rock Inn after purchasing a car from the garage next door. The food was amazing and the service faultless. My only complaint was no high chairs were available, bit weird for somewhere that offers kids meals. We'd go again.

As I work in a 4* hotel in North Wales, I do have very high standards when it comes to staying away from home. As we were in the area for my grandfathers funeral I really wanted a nice, homely place to stay, not a standard premier inn room. After searching the internet for hours, we found The Rock!! When... Yesterday evening, staying at my father's house took him out for an hour to a local pub at around 6pm, a treat for an 85 year old registered blind person, and being disabled myself recovering from a fractured spine and suffering from various diabetic conditions myself too. We were dropped off at THE ROCK and on entering the door, I... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Your hosts Paul and Jennifer Taylor extend a warm welcome to you here at The Rock. The former winners of the Enterprise Inns National Pub of the year competition have put their plans to emigrate down-under on hold. Having taken on the tenancy of The Rock in July, they have completely refurbished the entire hostelry throughout. We offer an elegant, well stocked bar, choice of real ales, interesting selection of wines and some old fashioned soft drinks which all catch the eye as you approach. The menu is comprehensive, predominantly fresh food based, catering for both those on the move lunchtimes, as well as those who prefer to linger. Our specials are innovative and changed regularly. ... more   less
