We visited the Rock Inn after purchasing a car from the garage next door. The food was amazing and the service faultless. My only complaint was no high chairs were available, bit weird for somewhere that offers kids meals. We'd go again.

As I work in a 4* hotel in North Wales, I do have very high standards when it comes to staying away from home. As we were in the area for my grandfathers funeral I really wanted a nice, homely place to stay, not a standard premier inn room. After searching the internet for hours, we found The Rock!! When... Yesterday evening, staying at my father's house took him out for an hour to a local pub at around 6pm, a treat for an 85 year old registered blind person, and being disabled myself recovering from a fractured spine and suffering from various diabetic conditions myself too. We were dropped off at THE ROCK and on entering the door, I... More

We arrived here in a party of 7, 4 adults and 3 girls aged 9,14 and 16 at 2pm for a Xmas family catchup as my husband had just returned from Afghanistan. However, were told quite rudely on arrival that we could not stay and have a drink with the children unless we were dining, this included terrible facial expressions... More

I came to The Rock a couple of weeks back for a meal with my family and we got given 2 separate tables, instead of one large table and when you're planning a family meet up as it's Christmas, sitting on two separate tables isn't ideal. We walked into The Rock and due to it being busy we weren't greeted... More

My wife and I are here for the second year running for a brief stay. There is nothing we can add other than to repeat what has been stated before. Paul and Jennifer are warm and friendly, treating their guests like family, whilst maintaining their professional standards as hoteliers. The rooms are all well equipped and clean, as is the... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night and found the staff, decor and ambience first class. Our room was superb and our hosts Paul and Jen couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We didn't have dinner as we'd had a large lunch, but breakfast was a fabulous affair with an amazing array of food on offer. I... More

What a fantastic pub and what a great welcome we were given by the owners and staff alike, absolutely spotlessly clean (including loo) great atmosphere and food second to none. My wife and I both had a meal and I must say it was outstanding, Paul and Jen the owners certainly have what it takes to run a country pub... More

I had my 70th birthday lunch inviting a number of my relatives and friends, we were all welcomed by Paul and Jen and made to feel very welcome. Although the restaurant was busy we were given every attention. The lunch when served was excellent and all enjoyed our meals. We were not rushed at all and were seated in an... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Your hosts Paul and Jennifer Taylor extend a warm welcome to you here at The Rock. The former winners of the Enterprise Inns National Pub of the year competition have put their plans to emigrate down-under on hold. Having taken on the tenancy of The Rock in July, they have completely refurbished the entire hostelry throughout. We offer an elegant, well stocked bar, choice of real ales, interesting selection of wines and some old fashioned soft drinks which all catch the eye as you approach. The menu is comprehensive, predominantly fresh food based, catering for both those on the move lunchtimes, as well as those who prefer to linger. Our specials are innovative and changed regularly. ... more   less
