Me and my husbands first sunday meal in nearly 6 years and it was lovely. The owners were lovely and understanding with our son who is nearly 4 and wouldnt sit still. When we have our next meal out we will return. Thank you very much.

Where do I start? I travel extensively throughout the world with work and this was indeed a business stay. From being greeting me in the car park with an umbrella as the Welsh weather was once again being predictable, to my room with everything (and I mean everything...) you could possibly ever think about needing - my stay was one... A warm welcome and good service from the staff but must agree with some reviewers that this is pretty standard pub food at gastro pub prices. Would benefit from a set menu for families. Fish and chips with a large piece of battered cod was very nice, starters very small portions for price, some of the puddings clearly bought in... More

I and members of my family frequent this pub regularly and are never disappointed. The staff and owners are lovely and make you very welcome. The service is always good. The menu is varied. The prices are good. The atmosphere is relaxed. Most importantly the food is always fabulous. The quality and portion sizes cannot be faulted. Real chips here... More

Ate here recently at lunchtime. Both my partner and I chose the homemade corned beef pie and chips. The food was excellent the chips were homemade and the meal was great value for money. The pub serves lunch from noon till 3pm and has a good selection at good value for money prices

We went .4 of us, on my brothers 75 th birthday last Saturday. Walked in very warm, pleasant surroundings. As a disabled lady it was important that the seating was comfortable. Thank goodness, NO hard dining chairs to play havoc with my spine. Found table 1 Comfortable PADDED seat and backs PERFECT Good start.. What about the lunchtime food? Absolutely... More

I use the Rock reasonably frequently to take my 87 year old Mum out for lunch. The menu is fairly predictable pub food (jacket potatoes, sausage & mash, fish & chips, corned beef pie etc) but it is always well cooked, delivered promptly and with a smile. If you are looking for 'designer dishes' then this will not be for... More

From the moment I entered the hotel I was greeted with the warmest of welcomes and hospitality, the hotel is a traditional pub from the 18th century, the landlords are amazing, recommend any to stay here. The surrounding countryside is brilliant so if you are looking for a weekend away with great walks this will be the place

Visited here for the first and last time on a Saturday evening, and was pleasantly surprised by the place itself, very cosy and traditional in décor. We were soon to be disappointed however by the food itself. My garlic mushrooms were served in a watery greasy sauce with no real taste to it, quite wishy washy. Husbands' thai fishcakes were...
