The setting of this motel was wonderful. The older part of the hotel was clean but in definite need of updating. The price, however, was very reasonable and made the stay acceptable, especially as we came into the area without reservations. We needed no other evening activities other than sitting on the dock in front of the motel. We were... More

Just returned from another wonderful 9 day stay. Owner Jim, along with Lorraine, Brenda and Scott, took great care of us. Weather was cool, but the Boothbay views from our 2nd floor room with a spacious balcony provided serenity and a scene not to be equaled. They are gearing up for the "on season" which will be commencing soon.

Decent, clean rooms, Nice views. Friendly staff, even saw staff out at a local restaurant and they spoke to us. Nice pool. Nice breakfast room-reasonably priced. We had a first floor room, sounded as though upstairs was stomping. Free ice machine, no fridge, but coolers welcome. Great water pressure for showers-good hot water!

We accidentally discovered this place about 5 years ago while driving around Southport Island checking out the lighthouses. When we looked at the rates, hubby and I looked at each other and couldn't believe it! All rooms waterfront, two buildings of which have balconys overlooking the water, no more than 50 +/- feet away! Prior to this discovery, we had... More

The property and the staff exemplifies the charm and beauty of a traditional mid coast Maine experience. The rugged and beautiful terrain and views from every room at the Ships Ahoy affords guests a luxury they would never get to experience from the majority of lodging options in the area. To the reviewers that proclaim poor hospitality, substandard accommodations, and... More

This motel is one of the best kept secrets around the Boothbay region- only minutes away from the hustle & bustle of the Boothbay Harbor region- you can have the best of both worlds. The rooms overlook the ocean- the view is gorgeous and the people who run this lovely place are fantastic. The room was clean & neat -... More

I would definitely go back to this place....yes, the rooms are dated, there is no fridge, paneled walls, old everything!...but geeze, your private deck overlooking Maine's beautiful coastline! What more can you possibly want? You get a nice clean room in a quiet setting just a few minutes away from busy touristy Boothbay Harbor, and you pay less than $80... More

Basically clean, small rooms and bathroom, beds okay, comfort-wise, but if I stayed more than 2 nights, for my back, not the best. Screens had holes in them, so I did not leave windows open, door has gap under it, from outside. Pool was clean. Friendly people. No credit cards at hotel or coffee shop. Breakfast, which is cheap, is... More

Let me start out by saying this place is in no way a luxury hotel...but I was very happy with our overall stay. The hotel sits right on the water with the most amazing views. The property is large and consists of 3 main buildings. There is a small pool that was nice to jump in for a dip to... More
