Apparently this had the best surviving parts of Hadrians Wall. Go to the little car park by the school and you can get two different people walks. One by the wall and over the river and the other cross the railway line to a well preserved remains of an old fort. The B&B was warm, welcoming and comforting. About 1.5... More

Thanks for taking the time to review, and I'm delighted you enjoyed our food. Just a note for people who would like to stay here, but might prefer to eat at the pub - it's not quite that far! Only about 10-15 minutes walk into the village - but I understand that might be a step too far if you've... More

My friend and I stayed here for two nights during our Hadrian's Wall walk and were well taken care of. The room was comfortable, warm and relaxing, there was a well-stocked honesty bar in the lounge, breakfasts were fantastic (Denise does all the cooking herself!) and our dinner on the night of arrival was delicious. The portions are big, filling,... More

Stayed one night as part of an Hadrian's Wall holiday. An exceptionally welcoming and comfortable B&B with super service and excellent food. My daughter could not continue the walk and Denise, the owner, very kindly dropped us off in her car at the nearest train station which was some distance away. If you are passing through don't just think about... More

Denise was extremely welcoming and helpful, she even dropped us off to haltwhistle train station to save us getting a taxi. Wifi worked perfectly in rooms and hot water in shower was great. Bed was comfortable, TV was small but fine for one/two night stays. Breakfast was delicious and very well presented. Would highly recommend exceeded expectations for a B&B... More

Our route instructions to the Villa were inaccurate, but upon phoning Denise, she stayed on the line with us as we followed her directions. Then, even though suffering from a week-long illness, she insisted she drive us to dinner at a pub. Gerry picked us up exactly at the arranged time. Next morning, after a long sleep, Denise had recovered... More

Denise runs a very tight ship - and her roast lamb was indescribably gorgeous. Very comfy bed, nice room and generous breakfast. We were absolutely finished after a 23 mile hike from Chollerford and Denise was very understanding - even when I nearly fell asleep in my soup!

This smartly run B&B exceeded our every expectation. It's not that the rooms are huge - though they are more than adequate. It's not that the bathroom is luxurious- though, again, it's more than adequate. It's just that when you look for something, it's there. Need a place for the shampoo - no problem. Hang some clothes - there's a... More

Great accommodation! Loved the sitting room and the items available through the honor bar. Beautiful breakfast room and wonderful meal! Walked to the Samson Inn for a fantastic dinner. We felt welcomed and appreciated an early entry. Highly recommend!

No complaints at all. Lovely room and super cooking. Was on a Skedaddle cycling holiday with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this for cyclists. The home cooking was something special.
