We stayed one night here and enjoyed the lovely views and quietude. Jeannette went out of her way to make us feel welcome and fixed a gluten free breakfast for me. Not far out of Auckland and some good places to eat in village as well.

Our suite had everything you could think of for a whole family never mind just the two of us! Janette made us very welcome and her restaurant recommendations were spot on. This is just a great place to unwind and we spent the last few days of our holiday here and would recommend it to anyone wanting some peace and... More

We stayed 1 night in the Clipper Suite and wished we had stayed longer! One night is not enough. A leisurely drive up from Auckland and we arrived at Mangawhai Heads. A sleepy little town, still with lots of "real kiwi batches". The Lodge is easy to find and although up a steep driveway has great parking at the rear.... More

We stayed one night in the self contained apartment on our way north. The apartment is very spacious and well appointed with many thoughtful extras supplied that make this a very special place to stay. The views out over Mangawhai to the Hen & Chicken Islands are absolutely stunning and we enjoyed being able to sit out on the balcony... More

We were only in Mangawhai for one night in for a friends party so we just wanted a nice place to sleep. The Par 3 room fit the bill nicely. The separate entrance was good to come back late at night. But we found the wet room was maybe a little too wet for our liking and didn't have a... More

Thank you for your comments were are glad you enjoyed your stay at Mangawhai lodge. Yes our wet room is a wet! - sorry it was too wet for you. The Par 3 does have an opening window to air it out, we chose not to put in an extractor fan to keep noise levels as low as possible and... More

We stopped off in Mangawhai on the way down to Auckland and we were lucky to find this B and B. A lovely house with really great views over the sea. Jeanette was very very helpful and a gracious host. Breakfast very good and this B and B was really good value for money. Pity we could not stay a... More

The host Jeanette is wonderful, the setting and views are fantastic, I can totally reccomend this lodge. We had a fantastic nights sleep and a wonderful cooked breakfast. Jeanette is a wealth of local knowledge and mangawahi is a great spot for a weekend.

This was the first stop on our second visit to New Zealand. Last time we had driven straight from Auckland to Paihia but decided this time that we should see more on the way up. What a mistake we made before!!! Mangawhai Heads is a gorgeous part of the world and I would recommend this area to anyone. Jeanette and... More

What a lovely place. I've looked at many reviews but never actually taken the trouble to contribute my views, so this is a first for me. It's actually 7 months since we stayed but on listening to a favourite CD that we purchased after having stayed for our Wedding Anniversary, I thought I'd make the effort because it was superb... Apart from bad weather we had two relaxing days in and around Mangawhai. The lodge was a good base from which to explore the area. Nice views and good breakfast!
