Wonderfully designed chalets that blend discreetly into the wilderness with breathtaking views over the Baviaanskloof. We arrived at 2 pm and Alice and Thys welcomed us with a delicious light lunch up at the lodge. Thys then took us (4 over 60s) in his bakkie on a scenic tour of Sewenfontein; his knowledge of the flora and fauna and way... More

Unbelievable experience Thys and Alice were fantastic hosts. The dinner in the cave was out of this world. Fantastic night. Great wine and conversation. Views and biodiversity of the area were something new to us. Great experience. Need we say more?

Although the roads were challenging, the scenery made up for it! Wonderful hospitality, rooms with views to take your breath away and good food made this a memorable trip....not to mention the entertaining guide! Can't wait to go again.....

In my opinion, a trip to S Africa would not be complete without a visit to Baviaanskloof Wilderness Park. It is stunningly beautiful, somewhat akin to Utah in the US. And THE place to stay is Sederkloof. Everything about the lodge is perfect. A beautiful setting, luxurious chalets, a beautiful lodge building with pool and fantastic meals. But the best... More

We arrive late and the owner were very helpful. Our husbands did the transbaviaans, we had to drive far at night to get to the accommodation, but there was nothing closer, will definitely come back for a weekend, with our kids!! lovely place surrounded with mountains,

We stayed for 3 nights and could have easily stayed another two. Thys and Alice were warm hosts and Thys's stories about his travels best ever around a campfire in their very own bushman cave (San bushman paintings too). The lodge itself is super comfortable and really secluded, plenty of attention to detail, you can see they are a well... More

We booked our trip in advance, a family of 8 that decided to book the Bush Cottage for our 4 night stay. Firstly you need to know that from the main tar road, you will have a 2 hour drive (from Uniondale) on Gravel Road. STRONGLY recommend a bakkie or 4x4 vehicle for this, since a Sedan will take a... Very unusual place. Feels like you're going back in time to an unspoilt part of the world. The views will take your breath away. Hosts were unstinting in their hospitality and friendliness. Could not have done more for us. Food delicious. Make sure you take a 4x4 with good clearance and travel through the reserve, 4 to 5 hours on... More

This was the most delightful experience! Everything was perfect - the location, the chalet, the lodge, the food and most of all the people. The setting is really beautiful, the chalets are private with great views and very comfortable. All excursions - including hikes and drives into the Wilderness area are included the rate. Thys, Alice, Anneke, Pieter and Kiewiet... More
