We have spent 4 days at the Sanctury, we enjoyed our time there, our room was clean, and more than what we had expected. We had no issues with staff, service or quality of food, we were impressed with activities and the fact you could use the rarotongan resort as well. We were in block 700 in a beachfront room.... We booked a garden room on the Rarotongan side when we arrived we received a free upgrade to the sanctuary side. We stayed for the last week of February. Weather was amazing. The staff on both side of the resort were friendly and helpful. Both pools were great and the use of free snorkelling gear was a bonus. We had... More

John Cleese would be proud of this place but in saying this you are in a lovely setting holidaying on island time so your expectations adjust accordingly to an island experience. Our week made up of wrong room, fridge freezing the water jug, security guard wandering into our room at 1.00am in the morning, none of the wine on the... More

We have just returned from a week at The Sanctuary, the newer part of The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa. It was the perfect honeymoon and we loved every minute of our time there. Our room was upstairs in the 600 block, and while we didn't have "direct beach access" it was a 30 second walk to the 'private' beach... More

We stayed at the Sanctuary for 3 nights. After reading the reviews, I was a bit scared on what to find. But I didn't get dissapointed! We had a beachfront suite, with our own little beach in the front and some sun-beds. The room was really nice to. It is a good part of the west to stay, since this... More

Just returned home after 1 week staying at the Sanctuary Rarotonga with my fiancee. We loved every minute of our holiday... The staff were relaxed, but charming and helpful and always smiling. We having the free resort activities available to us whenever we wanted them... tennis, snorkelling, paddle boarding, swimming etc. I would recommend having a form of transport if... More

Very recently we ventured for the first time in Rarotonga. We stayed in the Sanctuary Resort and we were very pleased with our choice. The rooms were very clean, air con was well received and the resort although a little tired and dated, was absolutely stunning. We have holidayed in Vanuatu, Samoa and Fiji recently but the snorkelling outside this... More

On the plus side, this resort is well located for snorkelling, swimming, etc. There's a decent pool area and we appreciated the fact that the whole place is adults only. The rooms were fine, although sheets, beds and towels pretty poor for a 4.5* resort. On the down-side: the whole place felt slightly shabby and out-dated. With the exception of... More

After reading many negative reviews before staying here, I decided to go in with an open mind. We were travelling with a large group of 17 for a special birthday. We had 9 beach front rooms and the view from our room was spectacular. All over the Cook Islands the color of the sea is amazing. Out the front of... More

Very friendly staff that bend over backwards to make you happy. We had a beautiful beach front room that was very comfortable. We had a little trouble working the air conditioner. It was actually a little to cold, but after the first night we kind of figured it out. There was an included buffet breakfast that was mainly fruits fruits,... More
