This place is situated in a beautiful location directly on the beach facing the lagoon. There are two sections one more expensive and kid free. It is not cheap at $400 to $450 per night for a tired room but endeavours to give a complete vacation. A reasonable pool is present and activities such as kayaking and snorkelling are free,... More

We stayed here for our honeymoon this month. Arrived to our room which was below average and very tired for $450 per night. Service was terrible in restaurants, wait staff were non existant, bar staff the same. Only table in restaurant twice and food came out stone cold and tasteless. Has ruined our Raro experience and definately wouldn't hurry back... More

We stayed here with friends who had been here before about three years, and hey very disappointed about how much this resort had gone down hill, buildings badly needing maintenance, Rain coming through roofs, outside cabana's not cleaned once in our ten day stay, stray dogs running through resort, and not being chased away by staff, I found this very... Have been home in cold Melbourne for a week after spending a week at the Rarotongan. A well established Resort. Yes older style but everything is clean and runs well. Well positioned just out of town. Bus door to door every half hour. Hire a scooter, ride a bike. All the water sports available. The staff are just wonderful. Warm,... More

The location was great, right on the beach (although the night of the super king tides was not too pleasant) and the fact that it is adults only are he only good aspects of this resort. The service at the bar and restaurant were very poor, several people left the bar at one stage as there was no-one serving and... More

The Sanctuary Rarotonga provides excellent, well-equipped accommodation right on the beach. It is situated next door to the Rarotongan Beach Resort, however the advantage of the Sanctuary is that it is an adults only resort! You can use the restaurants at the Rarotongan if you so wish. We stayed in Room 605 which was one of the closest to the... More

This resort fails to live up to expectations. The breakfast was outrageous. To be served bread out of a packet, cereal in a box, limited fresh fruit, tinned fruit, and tinned baked beans, this is not of a standard one would expect of a five star resort. A place that demands such prices, and advertises as five star is far... More

We stayed in a ground floor unit for 9 nights. Pretty gutted we couldn't see the water from our unit, our view was of a fence. We paid a lot of money and expected to see the sea from our room. We had to go outside to see the water but it was so windy we didn't want to go... More

The resort is in fact 30 years old and may have had a refurb 5 years ago. It is very tired and unpolished. Our room was quite nice but not very luxurious, which was disappointing as this was our first wedding anniversary. The continental breakrfast was not enjoyable, esp. when powdered milk was offered instead of the real thing.
