On the plus side, this resort is well located for snorkelling, swimming, etc. There's a decent pool area and we appreciated the fact that the whole place is adults only. The rooms were fine, although sheets, beds and towels pretty poor for a 4.5* resort. On the down-side: the whole place felt slightly shabby and out-dated. With the exception of... More

After reading many negative reviews before staying here, I decided to go in with an open mind. We were travelling with a large group of 17 for a special birthday. We had 9 beach front rooms and the view from our room was spectacular. All over the Cook Islands the color of the sea is amazing. Out the front of... More

Very friendly staff that bend over backwards to make you happy. We had a beautiful beach front room that was very comfortable. We had a little trouble working the air conditioner. It was actually a little to cold, but after the first night we kind of figured it out. There was an included buffet breakfast that was mainly fruits fruits,... More

WORST dining experience of my entire career! Myself, partner, and another couple ate here and I can honestly say that out of the hundreds of restaurants I have inspected and dined in throughout my career, this was by far the most terrible place experience I have ever come across. We waited 2hours for 3 soups and oysters. We were never... More

stayed in last block of resort in front of tennis courts on ground floor. The views weren't so great but the suite was well appointed and well maintained by household staff. A relaxed atmosphere and quiet and the beach is all tide swimming. The reception staff are helpful and friendly, dining however was a bit disappointing, not a great variation... More

We booked a week at the Rarotongan Resort but on arrival were advised we had been upgraded to The Sanctuary which is the adults only sister resort next door. Our room was lovely and very close to the water so the views were amazing. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable with lovely balconies where you can sit and enjoy... More

Stayed here for 7 nights for my first Cook Islands experience. The Good: 1. Some staffs are very helpful 2. The views from the beachfront suites were amazing! 3. Very quite and relaxed atmosphere. If you prefer a place for adult only, Sanctuary Rarotonga is your place The not so good 1. We booked the island romance package with extra... More

We stayed 6 nights in 600 block. While having immediate access to the beach it did not have immediate access to the water as a rock retaining wall had been built so to enter the water had to walk down pass 700 Block. The hotel is not that old but lack of TLC certainly gives the appearance of age. The... More

We recently stayed here for 4 nights on our 8 nights of our Cook Island experience. We found the staff to be on a whole helpful and pleasant. We arrived to the island on a very early morning flight and checked in at 1.00am. After flying all day we were ready for a good night sleep and our check in... More

We stayed here for 6 nights, it was a quiet time so it was very much a Sanctuary. We sometimes even went over to the Rarotongan to find some people to chat too. The room was good and was located in 700 block so we had direct access to the beach. Here's a few things we liked/didn't like: - Staff... More
