The rooms of this hotel are in individual buildings at the base of the castle walls. An amazing setting. Some are in renovated old houses and some are purpose built but blend well into the place. We stayed here in March and were lucky to be upgraded to a wonderful new suite complete with its own kitchen, sitting and dining... More

This is a lovely set of converted houses located in the top part of Marialva village. We went there to enjoy one of their programs, and we couldn't be more delighted about it. If what you're seeking is a totally relaxed time with attention to detail and your every needs, surely this is the spot to go. Worth every penny!... More

Beautiful hotel - albeit a bit hard to find but worth it. We stayed in late October so we were off season but it must be even better when others are there. The room was huge - it was like a little cottage with our own living room, dining room, kitchette and a huge bedroom. The staff are amazing and... More

7 of us arrived after dark for a one night stay at the end of a 4 day trip through the Douro. The consensus was that we would have liked to stay a few days longer & enjoy the pool & area generally. The rooms were very confortable & large. The dinner was very good as were the Casas do... More

A late review, thinking back to our fantastic stay here in August. Absolutely beautiful place, and I often think of the day beds under awnings in the olive grove above the pool now we are all back at work. We were in one of the older converted houses, which was great for our family of five. Pool was beautiful. Breakfast... More

What a FREAKING experience ! I had planned to surprise my wife with a high quality room in a great place... but ended up scarring her... We came to Marialva on a dark, gloomy and rainy afternoon at the end of September. From Lonely Planet, I knew that the village would be scarcely populated by black widows... but I never... More

This comment give us at the same time wish to laugh and pity ... because there are people with a sick and perverse mind who should be prohibited from traveling ... how can such a fertile imagination only be geared towards evil? is so sad ... More

We truly enjoyed the honeymoon suite, lovely view of the village from the top of the hill...a little peice of quiet heaven. The village was charming and dinner was a very pleasant experience in the big dinner with the host familly...no real option for lunch and a swimming pool bar menu ridiculously expensive tho

This hotel is a very beautiful place, the service was good, the village is very nice. Unfortunately, our room is really small and poorly insulated. Our room was on the first floor and we have sleeping not very well because of the noise of the room on the second floor.

My husband and I arrived in the pouring rain and plummeting temperatures after driving across from Spain, so it was with welcome relief that we found Casas do Coro warm and cosy. We loved our luxury pod and the welcome bottle of bubbly and nibbles. Candle lit dinner by the open fire in the restaurant was delicious and service excellent.... More

My husband, our two friends and I shared a villa at this wonderful hideaway. Set in the charming, historic village of Marialva. The villas and rooms are carefully designed to blend into the historic stone homes in the village. The old castle and chapel perched above the property adds to the ambience. A generous sized pool and cushy lounge chairs... More
