This was our third visit to Casas do Coro and needless to say we are planning a fourth for next year so you could say we are huge fans of the place! Casas do Coro remains a paradise to me and provides a huge antidote to London life. Carmen and Paulo greeted (and treated) us like family. Susanne and Sofia... More

Lovely spot, very rustic underfoot, need country foot ware. Endless sunshine. Nice pool in a burning hot patio. Room bigger than we needed—two bedrooms for a couple. Smelled of last occupants' cigarettes. Buggy, always swatting flies that follow you about. Dark and funky but clean, going for luxury but missing the mark. Kind personnel, charming owners. Wanted an aperitif and... More

Right in the heart of the historic village lays this gem. A perfect place for a weekend of rest . The rooms were spacious and clean . The staff is always ready to answer to any issue you may have. The pool was wonderful, just at feet of the castle you can get a wonderful view. Take some time to... More

We hired a self-drive boat on the Douro and this was one of the places recommended to us by the boat-hire people. Marialva was quite a distance from Pocinho (where we had moored the boat) but a taxi was arranged for us and we were taken first to the Castelo which overlooks the village- then to the restaurant. We weren't... More

Knowing the owners via some friends, finally we had the chance to go and visit their hotel. We had heard from other friends that it is an amazing place. But although we where surpised about the environment, the style, the food, the staff, actually about everything. The first night that we had dinner we had the honour to meet the... More

I had a great stay at Casas do Coro. I've stayed one night during a winter time. Dinner was amazing, followed by three kinds of wines. Rooms are very comfortable and bathroom is big and spoiling. Would go back again in a heart beat

It was my second time in Casas do Côro. The first time I stayed in a traditional house and loved it. For the second time I chose the Suite dos Bogalhais house. A modern home with amazing views to the village and castle. The house is in the outskirts of the village amidst cork trees and huge rock formations. The... More

A perfect hotel in a perfectly magical location. My only suggestion . Please put a tea and coffee maker with tea and coffee supplies in the small kitchenette. The chef needs a special mention . A delicious breakfast every morning followed by a creative picnic lunch for the Duoro cruise and topped up by a delightful dinner in a magical... More

The rooms of this hotel are in individual buildings at the base of the castle walls. An amazing setting. Some are in renovated old houses and some are purpose built but blend well into the place. We stayed here in March and were lucky to be upgraded to a wonderful new suite complete with its own kitchen, sitting and dining... More

This is a lovely set of converted houses located in the top part of Marialva village. We went there to enjoy one of their programs, and we couldn't be more delighted about it. If what you're seeking is a totally relaxed time with attention to detail and your every needs, surely this is the spot to go. Worth every penny!... More
