My husband, our two friends and I shared a villa at this wonderful hideaway. Set in the charming, historic village of Marialva. The villas and rooms are carefully designed to blend into the historic stone homes in the village. The old castle and chapel perched above the property adds to the ambience. A generous sized pool and cushy lounge chairs... More

My family of three along with another family of 4 stayed for 3 nights. We really enjoyed the village setting with the dramatic ruined castle backdrop, and surrounding countryside. The food was delicious, and we highly recommend trying the 4 course dinner with matching wines. The pool and surrounding sun loungers were just wonderful. I think it's a very special... More

Just get there and leave Carmen and Paulo, the owners, take of of you. Very special and delicious regional food (Carmen is not a Chef, she is the best!!), wonderful site seen and tours, best Portuguese wine and so on! Best place in Douro region. Unforgettable trip and experience.

This is a special hotel! If you want to rest, eat well and look at wonderful landscapes, then you should go there. The owners are present and always queen to make you feel at home. The dinner is served outside (when the weather allows) and is a very good experience – excellent food and good wines.

My family and I stayed in a 2-bedroom villa next to the pool for our 1-night stay. The interior was beautifully decorated and spacious. The beds were so comfy and the bathrooms were beautiful! Full kitchen with attached dining room and living room. Big beautiful pool and enclosed jacuzzi & dry sauna. The resort is a work in progress. They... More

I was in Casas do Coro for a 3-day Carnival Break with family. The booking experience surprised us with the assistant offering us a room upgrade, a night tour in the Marialva village and a guide tour accross the castle of Marialva. Once we have arrived at Casas do Coro the staff indicated us the room (modern, spacy, well equiped... More

It was amazing how friendly and welcoming I was received! Kindness of the owners and the remaining team was very nice, especially when travelling alone like me this is very important. It's a great place for rest, relaxation, walking and observing nature. The excellent cuisine, healthy and genuinely fine, I recommend to all those who like to eat well. I... More

Excelente, very romantic get away...so special....my recomendation is to choose Eco suite dos Bogalhais for an incredible experience and more privacy... It is not in the center of the village by just 5 minuts walking. Has an mazing view over the castle and many more lovely surprises... Nice extras: lots of books available to read...

While touring Portugal on a walking vacation of Portugal with VBT we stayed here for two nights. I never knew this area existed until we happened to take this tour. It's a wonderful hotel and a perfect place if you want to get away from the rat race of city living! The town is really quite with only one cafe... More

We found Casas do Coro strictly by its proximity to the Coa Valley and truly by happenstance. I had no expectations but I can't quite absorb the charm, the beauty and the uniqueness of this incredible "hotel"?? Casas do Coro consists of many separate houses nestled against the base of the castle walls. Open your casa door and....ahhhhh....the castle, the... More
