Stayed at the George overnight midweek on business. Arrived early and had no trouble with getting access to my room which was very useful. Then arrived in late back in the evening but again no problem for the staff. Room was comfortable and clean and the welcome and fare at breakfast was very good. Good value and would stay again. More

We stayed here as part of a wedding group. The public areas are nice and well kept, but the bedrooms are distinctly below the standard. Friendly hotel and a former coaching inn, so plenty of genuine olde worldness about it. Lovely large room with a four poster bed and murals dating back to 16th century. Very clean and comfortable and also very reasonably priced especially when compared with many places we've stayed. We definitely hope to return in the near future. More
