Another visit en route between Kent and Argyll, Scotland. Warm, comfortable room with good facilities. Recognised and welcomed by staff. Delicious supper and excellent breakfast. Thoughtful provision of dog towels. Good walking nearby for dogs. Entirely pleasant stay. My grandson loved the experience.

Stayed here last Friday (20th.November) for a catch up with some good friends. Room was spotless (as was the en-suite) and had everything we needed. Bed comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Lovely lounge and restaurant serving excellent food for both dinner and breakfast- a cut above your average b&b. Staff were friendly and helpful and all in... More

Country inn in a small village close to Harrogate & Masham. Although the rooms are a bit on the basic side, and out of a 1970's B&B, they are clean and comfortable enough. However, the place is well worth a visit for the restaurant.Excellent menu a cut above most country pub food, well cooked and well presented, surpassed my expectations.... More

We only booked at the very last minute and were very pleased that Janet was able to change our room ( the last available) to a double. The room had everything we needed and the food and welcome were excellent. Very central for lots of visits. Room 23 was very good and comfortable. On the ground floor. Easy access. All... More

The location is central for both the Dales and the Moors if you are intending to visit both as our group was. The rooms are basic in decor and furniture-but very clean and with everything you need for a short break, if you want trendy, not the place for you. A nice traditional bar and the food was very good.... More

Mixed feelings on this place. The good is - Great bar, great food, good wine list, fabulous breakfast. Rooms are clean and fine but pretty basic and at £80+ I would say overpriced. There are a number of sticker instructions around the room including one headed 'Read This' !! The staff were perfectly reasonable, barman did ask 3 times which... More

We stayed at the Nags Head in August on the way to an event, We were welcomed by an enthusiastic member of staff who checked us in quickly and showed us to our well appointed room. The bed was soft but very comfortable, the room was very clean with tea & coffee facilities and a biscuit. The bathroom was well... More

Rooms spotless, food excellent staff attentive and pleasant and a great Yorkshire breakfast. Great region for touring with Knaresborough Ripon and Thirsk on the doorstep. Advised to book early for the races what with Ripon,Thirsk and Catterick along with Weatherby race courses all nearby.

We had a first class meal on the 13th of August . The grouse was one of the best ever, with Edward in a jovial mood explaining everything about grouse at great length . It was indeed perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious . The rest of the party all enjoyed their meals of salmon , steak and ale pie , and... More
