We returned again to the Nags Head and as before we were not disappointed. This was our 3rd or maybe 4th visit and every time Janet & Edward and their charming staff are a joy to visit. My life is in the wine trade so the wine list is super. Honestly priced - more than fair actually - and the... More

My husband and I spent a night here recently, we were pointed to it from the Ripon Racecourse website. What a treat. It's easy to find, has plenty of parking and a wonderful bar, restaurant and our room was super, immensely comfortable with all that was needed to provide ease and relaxation. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, the quality of... More

Just came back from 3 nights here with my 2 fishing buddies. I don't know where to start in congratulating Ed and Janet on their wonderful pub, hotel and restaurant. To start with anyone who thinks Ed is rude or surly as a previous reviewer said is simply not smart enough to understand a slightly eccentric Yorkshireman who typically speaks... More

Spent a weekend here and had a really nice time which would have been even better if the licensee learned how to be a good host. The room was comfortable and the food was delicious, however the "host" was rude and surly, abrupt and impatient. I have stayed at many places over the years and I have never encountered anyone... Obviously your three nights for two (a saving of £87 with basic dinner taken) and feature day race tickets 2 for 1 at £25 instead of £50 wasn't saving enough as you did not even offer to pay for the race tickets!!! We have some fantastic customers - unfortunately you were not one of them! The couple you stayed with... More

We recently stayed at the Nags Head for one night. The rooms are spotless, beds very comfortable and the evening meal was delicious. We were having a really lovely time and had no problems at all until the breakfast order was taken in the morning. I'm not sure which part of "I'd like everything apart from sausage" is so difficult... More

Our friend found this little gem on laterooms.com and we managed to get the last room and a very good deal by phoning hotel direct. We were expecting a country style pub but we were all delighted to find it was much more than that. Rooms were nice, typical country style with everything you needed and bathroom was good too.... I was looking for somewhere to stay while travelling south from Durham, and this place fitted the bill perfectly. Only a few minutes drive from the A1, but in a quiet Yorkshire village. The twin room was spacious & comfortable, and the bath room looked as though it had been refurbed fairly recently. Lovely shower. I didn't eat dinner, although... More

We stayed at the hotel 9th May together with our dog on route to Northumberland. It was great to have a back entrance to get the dog out. The walking around the area was lovely. The room was a little small but very comfortable. The pub and restaurant were cosy and the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was... More

Yet another thoroughly enjoyable long weekend fulfilled at the Nags Head, a superb quality residential inn hidden away in a sleepy yorkshire village. Food and wine is at a level of excellence which has to experienced, words do not do it justice, and the friendly service dispensed from Edward, Janet and all of the staff, make it a thoroughly pleasurable...
