I have taken friends on two occasions recently to The Country Cottage for afternoon tea - one to celebrate a birthday and the other celebrate a Diamond Wedding Anniversary. The service was excellent on both occasions and the waitress went to a lot of trouble to make sure the Anniversary party guests had a very special afternoon We all enjoyed... More

Booked an afternoon tea for a 60th birthday celebration. Very disappointed, the sandwiches were chunky and dry, one sandwich was just lettuce leaves. The cakes was bought in, they looked like they came from Mr kipplings selection. The scones was small and hard. Very disappointed, no wonder we were the only ones there.

I used this hotel as a base whilst on a 3 day visit to the nearby BGS offices in Keyworth. The rooms are a decent size, clean, well equipped (the WiFi is pretty good) and the staff were invariably helpful and cheerful. There is loads of parking at the hotel and there is even a second car park outside the... More

We booked afternoon tea for our group of work colleagues for a reunion after 50 years. There was a small mix up on the numbers and time although I had confirmed that 3 weeks before with them but it was dealt with pleasantly and speedily. We chose to sit outside in the courtyard as It was a lovely day although... More

The hotel itself is very quaint-looking and the courtyard is very pretty. However our dining experience left something to be desired. We went for afternoon tea on what was quite a hot day, and were shocked at the state of the food when it arrived. The bread was hard and stale on many of the sandwiches and inexplicably oily to... We stayed here for one night at short notice. The setting is a really pretty town in Nottinghamshire. The garden was lovely really, typical of an English cottage garden. On arrival we wanted to relax in the bar and unwind after a long journey. There is a snug in the bar which looked cosy but was being used. The remaining... More

Absolutely top quality. The Honeysuckle suite was so beautifully decorated I was sorry we were only staying one night. The staff were friendly, polite and chatty. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and dinner was just wonderful. It was a little gem. I loved it

A group of us stayed here while visiting the races in Nottingham and we were really well looked after throughout. We had a meal booked for the first night of the stay, and it was very good. The rooms were large with armchairs etc. The bathroom was ok, although the shower was poor. At least there was a bath! Breakfast... More

I attended a family wedding on Saturday and have to say it was wonderful. The venue was lovely, the staff efficient and friendly, and the food amazing, one of the nicest wedding meals I've had. All served hot and plenty of it. Some of my family stayed overnight so got to see the accommodation and it looked really nice, and... More
