A quaint group of old cottages transformed into hotel with room names of colours and flowers. Very chintzy and draughty as I had expected. The door key was a museum piece of solid brass very heavy and difficult to lose. I had no hot water the first night and although had space, overall it felt small with thimble sized glassware.... The Country Cottage Hotel is the favourite venue for several local Rotary Clubs and the food and service never disappoint. Whereas car parking is like gold dust this is compensated by the warmth of welcome, pleasant décor and furnishings. Located near to the village centre, Ruddington is mid way between Nottingham city centre and Loughborough Town.Nearby Rushcliffe Country Park is... More

We held our wedding here in November and we couldn't have wished for it to go any better. The food was absolutely amazing with generous portions which went down well. The staff(especially Linda and Matt) went out their way to make us feel relaxed and made sure the day ran smoothly. Guests have commented that it was a beautiful, relaxed... More

Went there for a wedding which was great fun and was lovely. The hotel part of the venue is a series of small tired suburban houses from the 80's The walls feel like they are made out of cardboard with basic rooms. You'd get more for £100 in a premiere inn or others. They asked me if I wanted a... More

After attending a wedding here over the weekend there was a few little hicks. The ceremony was beautiful and everything went really well with the food and service nothing to complain about there. The only little things I was disappointed at was that we were told we could be in the brides room at 10am to start getting ready. The... More

Having stayed at the cottage 5/6 times in the last 18 months we call it our second home. We are a same sex couple and are welcomed and treated no different to anyone else, the staff are always very friendly and warm, a big shout out to Mathew who we would now class as a friend, he always recommends what's... I viewed this hotel online and thought how quaint. It is a strange mesh of weird rooms and all I could see was Xmas decorations piled up in public areas and it has zero atmosphere. The lights are so bright it is like being interrogated in the bar. There is a major humming from something behind the bar that either... More

I stayed for 3 nights while on a business trip to the area and was in one of the annexe rooms which from previous reviews on here seemed to be a good thing. However I was in a downstairs room and soon discovered there was no sound proofing between this and the room above meaning lots of disturbance from squeaking... More

stayed here on business, however rooms are slightly dated with odd décor, the water is hot and plentiful. Breakfast was nice and dinner too was pleasant, it ticks all the boxes but nothing outstanding. Some members of staff are very good others are not too bothered...(I think they are the owners)

Before booking, I would advise anyone to check if the hotel is having a party on the night of their stay. Since it sells itself as a wedding and party venue, I would assume that means most weekends are blighted. The noise from the disco on the night we stayed was horrendous and unrelenting. The level of the bass from... More
