Have just returned from a weekend at the Cottage and thought it was lovely. We were attending a wedding reception at a nearby hotel. The Cottage had a wedding reception on Saturday night but it was cancelled so they only had a handful of guests staying. They therefore gave us the Garden Suite for the price of a double room.... more

I booked this hotel for myself and 2 colleagues and I got the smallest room! But I did get the best view. The room had flowery wallpaper, not really un-expected in a room called Heather and over looking a well kept garden. The quilt cover was attractive and clean there were 4 pillows on the bed and a further 2... more

This was a disappointment after so many lovely B&Bs throughout our stay in England. The room looked great and spacious and we were comfortable enough for our one night stopover. However it was evident that the room had not been properly cleaned; the cups and saucers were used and dirty; the bin had rubbish; the bath had old used soap... more

While you're not far from a choice of hotels in this area, many of the other residents at this hotel looked like business travellers depressed that the the hotel had been selected for them rather than being their own choice. And initially I thought that was a bit unfair because the staff were certainly welcoming and the use of a... more

Just returned from a weekend stay. Greeted by friendly and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome even though they were busy with a wedding on Saturday (which incidently was beautifully done and catered for). The room was a reasonable size, clean and looked over the pretty gardens. Comfortable beds and quite made for a good nights sleep. Easy... more

My wife and I, together with colleagues, stayed at this delightful, but perhaps out of the way, hotel for 2 nights whilst we were on semi-business. Our three-roomed cottage bedroom comprised of a large, well-fitted bedroom, a large bathroom (with bath and shower over and an ample supply of towels and toiletries) and small, but cosy sitting room. The bedroom... more

Having failed to book a hotel in Nottingham city centre, we were staying for one night at the Country Cottage hotel. The reception was friendly enough and checking in was no problem. The hotel looked and felt more like a B&B (bed and breakfast) and the bar area and dining was a bit like a pub. The rooms were very... more

I too stayed stayed at the Country Cottage and was given the room with a 4 poster bed close by to the courtyard and found it to be delightful. The fixtures and fittings were second to none and the staff could not have been more attentive. The menu was v. good and the meal cooked to perfection. I had been... more

I am not sure where the previous reviewers stayed but it certainly doesn't seem to be the same hotel as we stayed in! I would agree that we had a warm welcome. We stayed in the suite facing onto the courtyard that a previous reviewer talked about. It was a very strange room; it had patio doors, so you had... more

I stayed at the Country Cottage on business for the first time. Being a regular traveller I am quite picky when it comes to rooms, but found the room to be spacious, clean and light. the beds had duvets with sheets, which was useful as the rooms are not air conditioned. I didnt seem to have a remote for the... more
