We stayed at the Chateau for one night on the way to the Alps. We opted for an authentic standard room and were pleasantly surprised when we found it also had its own access to the garden terrace. (ask for Joseph Hessler). The welcome in the car park was very friendly and our luggage was whisked away and off to... More

Chateau de Bagnols is a beautifully restored castle. The proprietors considered each and every detail to enhance the beauty of the environment as well as the appointments in each room. The level of detail included elegant antiques. Due to the timing of our stay, the only restaurant open for dinner was the Bistrot Gormand. The dinner was excellent. Unfortunately we... More

This hotel is incredible architecturally - it is an ancient castle and grounds and our room was beautiful in one of the outbuildings. It was one of the cheapest rooms but huge with a walk in dressing room and lovely bathroom. The service is a bit strange though. We arrived and it took a while to gain access through the... More

Sad to report that a place we have stayed at many times in the past few years and was once our favourite hotel. But now under new ownership and temporary management, have produced a feeling that they really couldn't care less about guests. Nothing but poor service, no television at all for any guests when we were there and the... More

This really is 5 star accommodation. A fabulous venue with spectacular views of the rolling hills around the region of Beaujolais. Concierge were great, on arrival they made the transition from our car to our room very easy. All the rooms in the main castle are very authentic, a bit dark - but then in those days that was the... Wonderful hotel where we were treated like royalty. Amazing room, grounds and customer service. Loved every minute. The only negative is that it was very expensive to eat there and there were no closer options. We only ate a few meals there but the price of restaurants was more than the stay.

I was there with my family and we think this is one of the most amazing places we ve visited after a long time. The place is extraordinary, room a bit dusty but incredibly beautiful! the restaurant is worth a try, I particularly enjoyed meeting with the very competent and friendly Chef JA oUtarra from La Reunion. We thought the... More

Exquisite stay at the Chateau, in the Fleurie room next to the spa. Everything has been really well thought out, the rooms are decorated beautifully, the chateau and grounds are awe-inspiring and the pool is a delight, especially on a very hot day. Staff were lovely but not tremendously efficient for a 5 star hotel, and the biggest downside we... More

Stunning hotel in modenised chateau, amazing setting in rolling Beaujolais countryside. We stopped for 2 nights on our way to the Alps - the hotel is about 10 miles from the motorway. My wife and I stayed in a modern room, which was excellent; our daughter had a traditional room in the main chateau - was rather hot without air... More
