Hopewell is unique. Arrive by boat, unless you want to drive an extra long time on very curvy roads to get there. It's like an upscale - though not fancy - camp for adults and families. The setting on Kenepuru Sound is beautiful. Rooms are clean and nice, some with bathrooms, others requiring a trip down the path to a... More

Hopewell Lodge is a brilliant place to unwind. There are plenty of activities to keep anyone amused, from looking at glow worms to a variety of water based activities and a spa bath to soak in after all the action. There are also four hammocks in the trees to snooze in if it all gets too much! The self catering... More

My wife, two adult children and I stayed at the lodge for four nights at the end of December. Our stay fun and relaxing and Lynley and Mike were gracious hosts. We especially enjoyed gathering our own oysters and clams, kayaking, taking long walks along the sound, mussel night, and socializing with many well-traveled, interesting fellow guests. The kitchen facilities... More

We like travelling and take great care in choosing where we stay each time. The reviews for Hopewell on TA were so positive we decided it would be a good place to stay for our extended family of 8 during the new year. Well, this was the best place we've stayed - 4 days of complete relaxation and comfort. Hopewell... More

Hopewell Lodge would rate as one of the best places we have stayed. The location is beautiful and the service amazing. Mike and Lynley are the best hosts ever and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend staying more than a few nights to really relax and take advantage of the surroundings.

What can I say. We stayed at Hopewell Lodge for Christmas and it was fantastic. The big Christmas Eve cook up was superb and Mike & Lynley were fantastic hosts. A room with a stunning view, plenty to do or a great place to just relax, a very well equipped kitchen if you choose to cook rather than eat the... More

I had the best service from this lodge out of any accommodation I've ever stayed at. Lynnley and Mike are really giving people and so friendly!! We were on our honeymoon and out of fate we were upgraded before they even knew that. The facilities were the best we've seen in any lodge and we felt very welcome. The only... More

I would like to say a huge thank you for your positive feedback and we would love to welcome you back sometime. It was lovely to be considered as a destination for your honeymoon, and our congratulations again. I am so very sorry to read about your experience with the "fishermen" and their inappropriate behaviour. I though it important to... More

My wife and I spent 8 months exploring New Zealand and this was our favorite place. Mike and Lynley are the perfect hosts. They set up the perfect atmosphere for a great time. Great mussel nights and pizza as well. Plenty to do in a beautiful spot. Great hot tub to rest up in. Enjoyed the float plane ride back... More

Whether you are kiwi or overseas just stop looking and book. You will not be disappointed. We took the plane which was a must way to arrive and save time. The hosts are perfect and know how to run a lodge with style, make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. You will love the value style accommodation... More

We had three wonderful nights at Hopewell in the school holidays. A magical spot to rest, relax and recharge the batteries for our family. We loved the two bedroom cottage we were in. Gorgeous sea views to enjoy. Fresh coffee, homemade pizzas, fresh mussels all delicious! Facilities are outstanding in every way and Lynley and Mike are the ultimate hosts.... More
