Raetihi lodge On my first visit to to New Zealand, I wanted to treat my son, his girlfriend and my travelling companion to a special, extraordinary place. After quite a lot of research, I settled on Raetihi Lodge in Marlborough sound. We arrived by ferry into Picton, my son picked us up and we raced for the boat as we... More

Dear Judy, Thank you very much for your review of Raetihi Lodge. We sincerely welcome all comments from our guests, and we'll do our best to address any issues that arise. I'm glad your stay was positive with the exception of some of the additional costs. While it might seem excessive, $25 per person for a water transfer or water... More

My daughter and I have been on a touring holiday of the North and South islands. I am so delighted we found Raetihi Lodge as it was one of the highlights of our trip. The location is just out of this world. We drove from Picton to Te Mahia in just over an hour and parked up. Nelson collected us... More

Thank you so much for your kind and appreciative words about Raetihi Lodge. We value all input from our guests, and particularly enjoy getting positive comments about our staff, Juli & the decor. We've all worked hard to refurnish and establish an ambiance where guests feel special and luxuriously indulged with great food, service and views, but comfortable in that... More

Wonderful service with a smile and personal touch. The garden view rooms are quite large, the hillview rooms are very small with facilities outside the room in the hall which is quite strange. However the staff are amazing and so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is very good and the trackers lunch is also very much appreciated... More

My wife and I were tramping the Queen Charlotte Track. We couldn't get lodging near Portage Bay, so booked two nights at Raetihi Lodge, for a layover day. It couldn't have been nicer. Very attentive staff, a drop-dead view on Marlboro Sound from our porch, wonderful meals. My wife treated herself to an hour massage; I kayaked and mountain biked... More

Our third time back to Raetihi, and as always couldn't ask for more. The staff really go out of their way to be helpful, the rooms are not exactly lavish but very comfortable, the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Although I would;d not normal go for the smaller portioned type meals, the food served was... More

Catch the boat across to Raetihi lodge. Entering across the amazing blue water of the sounds set the scene for a relaxing couple of days Traveling with a four year old, I was a little concerned that there would not be enough to do, but with easy walks, swimming, uncrowded grounds and a superbly equipped games room, the whole family... Having persuaded grandad to look after our young son for a couple of days, my wife and I booked a short stay at Raetihi for a little r&r. What an amazing place! We drove to Te Mahia from Nelson which took about 1.5 hrs and were collected by the inhouse water taxi for a quick 10 minute transfer over the... More

My wife and I are touring New Zealand. We were driving along the road from Picton to Havelock on the Queen Charlotte Drive but just before the solitary petrol station there was a right turn off to a gravel track. About two hours later we arrived at Raetihi Lodge. How fortunate for us that there was a garden room available.... More
