Raetihi Lodge was recommended to us by friends who had stayed there a few years ago. Its remoteness meant that we took a water taxi across the sound rather than drive for 2 hours+ to get there. The views of the sound from the hotel were superb, even though the weather wasn't great. The room was spacious and the meals... More

Raetihi Lodge is remote, reached by a long slow road round Kenepuru Sound, or by water taxi from Te Mahia or Picton. We enjoyed its remoteness and peace, and its lovely location with the garden overlooking the Sound and wooded hills. The rooms were comfortable with no TVs or phones - adding to the quiet atmosphere (there is a TV... More

A group of us booked out Raetihi Lodge for a wedding and found it an ideal venue for such an event. It is really convenient to have the guests all under one roof (with the overflow staying a short distance away at the excellent Hopewell Hostel) We stayed two nights which meant that we got lots of time together at... Spend two nights at Raetihi Lodge as part of our QCT walk organised by wilderness guides. Overall it was a relaxing and pleasant place to stay, but with a few little niggles. On the positive front, the location was excellent offering great opportunity to use the free kayaks, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was large (which is... More

We stayed at Raetihi Lodge at the end of our NZ tour. The setting is lovely and ideal for relaxing. We were slightly disappointed with a few things. There was no bottled water in the room. The menu did not change from one evening to the other. I found it a bit odd not to be shown to our room,... More

My parents recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. A gift from my sister and me was an overnight stay at Raetihi lodge, with evening meal and breakfast. They both had a wonderful time. They were delighted with their meals and they reported that the service was fantastic! Warm and welcoming. The accommodation was perfect. Thanks Raetihi Lodge for helping my... More

Stunning location, excellent facilities, huge rooms, perfect food... there is nothing bad about Raetihi. If you're looking for a relaxing escape, this is it! You wont get a better nights sleep anywhere and can take your pick of activities during the day, especially if that's just putting your feet up. This place wont disappoint.

We stayed at Raetihi Lodge for two nights on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day during our walk on the QCT. We had arranged a water taxi to pick us up from Portage which was prompt. James, the manager was waiting at the pier when we arrived and very kindly took the bags off two weary walkers! The setting is stunning,... More
