We choose Furneaux Lodge to spend a romantic weekend away for our first wedding anniversary and it was the perfect place. The weather was brilliant and the setting couldn't be more tranquil. The staff were all very obliging and the service and food was excellent. I would certainly stay there again in the future and would recommend to others.

Stayed for one night while trekking the queen Charlotte trek, in a lovely suite - amazing view from anywhere, including the room. While it is certainly wasn't cheap, we do recommend. Only downside - food ( especially breakfast) was quite expensive and portion sizes were relatively small.

We made a trip to the Lodge for lunch while up in the Sounds for a fishing trip. We had been before a couple of years ago and had enjoyed the lovely setting. Our first choice of the lamb burger was not available so two of us had fish and chips and the other two had Porterhouse steak. We felt... More

We stayed two nights at Furneaux Lodge on a three week vacation in New Zealand. The Cougar water taxi dropped us off at Resolution Bay at 2:40 in the afternoon and we walked 12 km on the Queen Charlotte track to the lodge. We had the entire trail to ourselves. Our luggage was there and we had a gorgeous spacious... More

As older parents with younger children, tramping from Ships Cove to Furneaux Lodge was a great way for the whole family to enjoy a walk. We got to the Lodge and my husband took of his shoes and had a cold beer. The boys had some hot food while I went for a warm shower. I came back to find... More

We were doing the Queen Charlotte Trek and staying at lodging along the way. We booked into the Backpacker lodging and were surprised at how nice it was. The room was small but very clean and had a coffee/tea maker with cream :) The shared rest room and shower facilities were clean. We did have to pay $2 for a... More

I could not believe that Furneaux could combine the history with the old magnificent homestead of the Queen Charlotte Sound with such gorgeous lodge accommodation. I was totally blown away by the sheer beauty of the place but also by the hospitality and their attention to every detail for the weary walker. Congratulations to everyone involved because we LOVED it.

This was our first night on the Queen Charlotte walkway and we stayed in the 'backpacker-style' cabins. These were clean, but small with no storage but for the clear floor in front of the tea/coffee station. Our biggest disappointment was to find the shared bathrooms were very basic, bare concrete floor affairs, reminiscent of public toilets of yesteryear. To find... More

We stopped in at Furneaux Lodge for lunch while mountain biking the Queen Charlotte Track in the middle of a storm. We pulled in dripping wet and muddy as hell. They invited us in and served us some amazing food and beer. Even though we weren't staying there they washed and dried all our super muddy riding gear while we... More

We stayed here on our first night of a 4 day walk along the Queen Charlotte Track. The rooms were nothing special but warm, dry & with all the amenities you need. The bar & restaurant area were very welcoming, and would have been fantastic if they had the fire going. The food & service were very good and they... More
