3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Having had a wonderful meal at Christmas time here, I chose to bring family that were visiting from the UK for a once a lifetime holiday, to stay here to sample the delights and because Furneaux had the colonial, oldie worldly look over the more contemporary look of other local lodges around, thought it would be a more memorable experience... Stayed at furneaux while doing a 2 day kayak in the sounds, We stayed in a hikers cabin and it was more than adequate for one nights stay, the food in the bar was nice and reasonably priced as were the drinks, I like the fact that the old part of the homestead still has some original features, the relaxed... We walked from Ship Cove to Furneaux and while waiting for our boat pick up, had a drink. A cider which was very nice and a beer cost us $11. The female staff member behind the bar was not very interested in helping or suggesting a good cider to drink and although she was not unpleasant, would benefit from learning... More

We stopped by Furneaux lodge while trekking on the Queen Charlotte track, we didn't expect to find such a nice old b yielding, in the middle of no where We spotted for a drink in at heir bar, considering how remote it is, the prices were reasonable It looks like a nice hotel from what we could see, the staff... Charging 5 star prices you are lucky if you get 1 star accommodation. In fact we have stayed in better backpackers. For $320/night we were amazed to be shown to our cabin located behind a shrub with virtually no view. If the hole in the carpet didn't put us off then the mould in the shower, fungal bloom down the... More

While Staying near by for around a week, Furneaux Lodge was our daily hub while we we're holidaying locally. Has everything you need in what is a quite isolated area. Was great to trek over to Furneaux in the mornng and get a tasty Trim flat White and chill on the deck before hitting the day. Had dinner there on... More

The location of Furneaux Lodge made this an amazing vacation. The lodge backs directly onto the Queen Charlotte Track and has a great beach front (not sandy) for collecting shells, mussels that you can eat (green tipped mussels) and snorkelling. From here we were able to do many family hikes, either by leaving directly from the lodge or taking a... More

We stayed at Furneaux for one night, the first night of a 4 day Queen Charlotte Pass walk. What a lovely place! We had one of the new suite rooms, very modern with a lively outlook onto the sea: felt we were there alone! But only minutes from our room was the rest of the lodge and the restaurant. It... More

We stayed one night while walking the queen Charlotte track. The hikers cabins are extremely small and overpriced. You even have to pay for the shower. The location is amazing and the people are friendly though. The food was good, but coffee terrible.

We called in to have lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Beautiful and warm with fantastic surroundings. Good food and the coffee was excellent, highly recommend to anyone looking to experience remote NZ.
