We were doing the Queen Charlotte Trek and staying at lodging along the way. We booked into the Backpacker lodging and were surprised at how nice it was. The room was small but very clean and had a coffee/tea maker with cream :) The shared rest room and shower facilities were clean. We did have to pay $2 for a... More

I could not believe that Furneaux could combine the history with the old magnificent homestead of the Queen Charlotte Sound with such gorgeous lodge accommodation. I was totally blown away by the sheer beauty of the place but also by the hospitality and their attention to every detail for the weary walker. Congratulations to everyone involved because we LOVED it.

This was our first night on the Queen Charlotte walkway and we stayed in the 'backpacker-style' cabins. These were clean, but small with no storage but for the clear floor in front of the tea/coffee station. Our biggest disappointment was to find the shared bathrooms were very basic, bare concrete floor affairs, reminiscent of public toilets of yesteryear. To find... More

We stopped in at Furneaux Lodge for lunch while mountain biking the Queen Charlotte Track in the middle of a storm. We pulled in dripping wet and muddy as hell. They invited us in and served us some amazing food and beer. Even though we weren't staying there they washed and dried all our super muddy riding gear while we... More

We stayed here on our first night of a 4 day walk along the Queen Charlotte Track. The rooms were nothing special but warm, dry & with all the amenities you need. The bar & restaurant area were very welcoming, and would have been fantastic if they had the fire going. The food & service were very good and they... More

We attended a family wedding at furneaux the service, weather and setting could not have been better. But thought the new apartments were overpriced with only tea and coffee making facilities and a very small fridge.

We paid 96 nzd for a hikers cabin of a size of approx. 4 square metres. The "bathroom" was outside and had the flair of a camping site. We had to pay 2 nzd extra each, to get a warm shower, again with the feeling as if you were staying on a regular camping site instead of a pricy lodge.... More

Set on expansive grounds in an idyllic location, Furneaux was probably, once, the place to stay in Endeavour Inlet. It still has a pulse but desperately needs resuscitation. No complaints with the bar/restaurant in the main homestead building. We were provided with good service (well done Mitch) and decent food in a lovely setting. However, the accommodation is sub-standard. We... More

I've been here two times for lunch in the last 2 months, and both times the food was really nice. Great flavours and presentation. The service is pretty good, and wait times for food has been quite short both times. The actual restaurant feels very dark and cold and could benefit from some better lighting. The property is very nice... More

We stayed overnight here while walking the Queen Charlotte sound, our room was upgraded to a beautiful studio with views of the sound and mountains behind. It was clean and spacious and it was so nice to relax in comfort after the days walk. The Lodge has a lovely feel to it with a great veranda and lovely green grass... More
