I was looking for a place with lots of space - without manicured gardens, opportunity to walk and sit out to spot wildlife. This is what I found! Would highly recommend it for any keen wildlifers - the location could not be better and the team were tops. There are great water bodies on this large property and a machan... More

Recently stayed at Tiger Trails for a visit to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. As others have mentioned it is not luxurious accommodation but it is very comfortable and all the staff are friendly. They are also in the process of a few upgrades to the central area (bar/communal space) which includes a small swimming pool. This was actually our second... More

I did spent a long weekend beginning of March in the Tiger Trails Lodge. Rooms are located in different bungalows. My room was large, clean and did have an AC. That was important, as the temperatures beginning of March have been already above 40 degrees Celsius. Food is homemade, but excellent and very tasty. The lodge is close to one... More

We wanted to got to India to see tigers. By the time we arrived at Tiger Trails, we had already visited 2 other parks and had been on 11 game drives. The reward: just one good tiger sighting. We had 6 more game drives in Tadoba and several really good tiger sightings! Tiger Trails is an excellent base from which... More

All round service and experience was excellent. I cam to see wildlife and that was the highest determining factor in the review. We saw a bear, a pack of 7 wild dogs (at the entrance gate!) gaur, deer birds and 4 tigers for a total of 100 minutes viewing on the first safari! The accommodation is clean and adequate it... More

The resort has a great location, with what is clearly a political sleight of hand in leaving the resort area out of the forest boundary, hence a resort which is rightfully part of the jungle. The owner is clearly very well connected. We walked around the water hole and machan area during the day, barely 50 metres from our rooms,... More

I stayed here in late April 2012 with the family. Tiger Trails is located at the edge of the park, about 3-5 minute drive from the Khuntwada Gate. The positive part of this location is that it takes one right in the middle of the park, from which the Moharli and Tadoba ranges are accessible...so one can go North/South based... More

We visited the camp in february as all other hotels at other gates of Tadoba were full and could not arrange a safari for us.. The gate where the hotel is located is not so commercial compared to Moarli gate. The rooms are well below average for the price you pay and some bathrooms needs refurbishment. The toilet seats were... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tadoba National Park is India's best protected Tiger Reserve, with most visible tiger sightings, in Chandrapur Dist, Maharashtra State, India. Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is 623 sq. kms in area, consisting of two forested rectangles of the Tadoba and Andhari range. Thickly clad hills form the north and western boundary of the Tiger Reserve. Half way along the western boundary of the Park, the hill contours, to form the Chichghat valley where the TigerTrails Jungle Lodge is located ( Pl. Open map page). This valley is the TIGERTRAILS estate. It is ringed on three sides by the Park forest. To the south is the Irai lake, approx. 20 kms in length and forming the southwestern boundary of the Tiger Reserve. The main water source at Chichghat, is the Tadoba rivulet, which cascades down the rocky hills to the north of the valley, flows through the camp and onwards to the Irai lake. TigerTrails, a colonial style forest lodge which is situated in a small thickly forested valley, right in the center of the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger reserve. The estate forest has numerous waterholes, which have observation machans overlooking them, provided for guest for undisturbed wildlife viewing. Guests activities include Birding, trekking, machan sit-ups, and tiger tracking on foot. Bar-b-ques and camp fires are arranged in the lodge courtyard, where, guests can sit around, and listen to animal calls till late in the night. Since the forest starts from a few feet away, Tiger calls come creeping close. TIGERTRAILS is a wild get-away, deep inside tiger country, where only a stripped shadow will prowl outside your window. The camp has cottages and machans. Power, hot water and distilled water for drinking are solar generated. Waste is disposed off without damaging the fragile ecosystem. The camp overlooks a waterhole and grasslands. Conservation of water resources and recharging of ground water has kept our forest green, and waterholes full, which have in turn have made the wildlife, adopt the estate forest closely. One can see Tiger, Leopard and Sloth Bear pug-marks within 500 feet of the camp. Carnivore kills are frequently spotted in the surrounding scrub. The estate forest has numerous waterholes, which have observation machans overlooking them, provided for undisturbed wildlife viewing. Tadoba Tiger Reserve is open throughout the year, and so are we. Tiger Safari rides in Tadoba are now 24 hours away from your destinations in UK, Europe and America as there are new daily international flights to Nagpur from U.K/Europe/America via Dubai, Sharjah. Nagpur is accessible by air from all four corners of India. There are daily domestic flights of Indian / JetLite / Kingfisher / IndiGo and Go Air to Nagpur from Mumbai / Hyderabad / Kolkata / Delhi / Chennai / Bangalore / Pune / Ahmedabad / Indore and Goa. Forty express trains, every day from Mumbai / Hyderabad / Kolkata / Delhi / Chennai / Bangalore stop at Nagpur /Chandrapur/Ballarshah railway station.
