Stayed here in August for a local wedding. What a lovely friendly welcome we were given. Felt completely welcomed and instantly "at home". Nothing was a bother. It felt like a hotel it is so beautiful inside. Immaculate and with an arty touch. Great sitting room to chill in and a really well equipped kitchen with everything easily found.Tradition old... We had a weekend away with my parents who came over from Poland and we wanted to get some good value accommodation but good quality stay at the same time. I found this place on SYHA website and as soon as I saw their website I knew we wouldn't be dissapointed. We booked a private family room 4 of us... More

We stayed here as part of our John o'Groats to Lands End charitable bike ride. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. There was a very useful shed to store our bikes in. The building is beautiful and superbly decorated. We shared a room with a double and two singles which was massive with its own ensuite. The kitchen facilities... More

Excellent combination of hostel and b&b in a beautiful part of the world. We were met by Brenda with a pot of tea and fresh muffins, given the tour and dinner recommendations, then left to enjoy the vibe of this large, stylish house. We went for the b&b option (delicious!), but the dorms looked comfy, and the huge self catering... More

Made very welcome and my boys (10. 8 & 6) first experience of hostelling could not have been more positive. Good facilities, clean rooms and delicious homemade muffins to boot. Good walking & cycling territory. Went on a lovely off-road cycle along the banks of the Tay (the Inver/Fiddlers Path). Relatively easy (my 6 yo managed it) though more challenging... More

Of the several accommodations we had booked for our Land's End to John O'Groats cycle, this was definitely my favourite. We had a really warm welcome and were delighted to be given a tea and cake on arrival - a reward for arriving by a green mode of travel. The set-up of the hostel was charming, with modern facilities whilst... More

I was welcomed after a day of cycling with a hot cup of tea and a muffin - and that was just the start of the hospitality. Our room was spacious. There is a very large living room and a communal kitchen for guest use. Though the wifi signal was weak in the bedroom, it was great in the living... More

Lets start with the missing 5th star . We had a downstairs room with the pavement right on the other side of the window which really needs some double glazing , no dought its a listed building but you could still put up secondary . Fortunately its a smallish and relatively quite town so we were only disturbed on 2... More

Hi Rob, Thanks for your lovely review, it was a pleasure having you here. I'm sorry you were disturbed while in the ground floor room. We do have secondary glazing in that room most of the year but it's been so warm recently that we took it down so the window could be opened for ventilation! Hopefully it won't put... More

If you're in Dunkeld, stay here. There's a home-baked muffin for all those arriving by bike/kayak/self-powered transport. There's a lovely living room filled with books and games for relaxing and chatting. There's a BRILLIANT brekkie the next morning. And all without a guilty conscience, because Dot, Brenda and their team recycle, compost, and reduce their energy usage like environmental ninjas.... More
