We stopped here for a coffee and a quick seat while out for the day. We were welcomed warmly by staff who saw to our needs (decaf coffee) and gave us some local information. Very pleasant. Will return another time.

I was backpacking solo and got off the train in Birnam in hopes of find a B&B. I did not - but the lovely folks at the Birnam Hotel made me happy I tried there. Felt like I was a traveler in the 1920s but with updated services. The breakfast was excellent. The staff very cordial.

It's nearly a year to the day since I left my 1st review where I couldn't fault this hotel, the honeymoon period unfortunately did not last. My first 2 stays were excellent and I had planned on making a regular return as a treat for myself and was also looking forward to bringing my daughter along. Our 3rd visit couldn't... More

we are very sorry that you found your recent stay unsatisfactory, however on looking back at the duty reports it would appear that everything was done to try and rectify the problem, unfortunatly a room change was not an option available to us that day. We are not perfect but to do try our very best to accommodate where possible.... More

We stayed at the Birnam Hotel on an Amazon local deal. The room was really nice large and overlooking the front of the property. The lift is a museum peice and added to the feel of the hotelIt was clean and comfortable with an OK bathroom. We had dinner the first night on the deal and this was fine with... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and had booked hotel through an Amazon Local deal. So looking through that lens we could not fault any aspect of our stay. The room was clean, the food was excellent - breakfast and dinner, the location sits in a stunning part of Scotland and gives you easy access to various landmarks. The staff... More

Just come back from an overnight stay at the Birnam. We saw some reviews and wondered what it would be like. Hotel is quaint and slightly old fashioned but that is what makes it a good place to stay. Rooms may not be ultra-modern but they have an old fashioned charm and are at least not the identikit ones you... More

Ideally located hotel for exploring surrounding area. Plenty parking area. Stayed with group of fishers and were given private room for dinner. Menu was not extensive but adequate. Service was excellent with very friendly staff (except barman who was less than helpful). Hotel languishes in style of 40's/50's (the lift only lacks a bell boy) and needs some upgrading but... More
