We stayed one night and on arrival were locked out main door and had to phone to be let in.The wallpaper is coming away from walls in the main hall and it all just looks a bit past it. The towels in our room had a damp musty smell when they were wet. Its a lovely building in need of... More

I was a part of a group of 8 who visited this property in late July. We were met with a sign on the door to let ourselves in with the keys being in the room doors. The decor was quite dated, a la "The Addams Family." Towels were the roughest I have ever experienced, but good for exfoliation. The... More

Stayed here when I came fishing in the spring and had a very comfortable and enjoyable visit! Breakfast was great every morning and set you up for the day. Clean rooms and hot water. What more do you need?! Will be returning!

Second time staying at the merryburn hotel absolutely great service, rooms adequately equipped and very cozy. Meals in the hotel are delicious and nothing seems to be a problem and any requests are dealt with by Hilary who really makes you welcome will definitely be back this year.

I stopped off at the Merryburn on my way up to the Moray Firth. I travelled alone and was thrilled with the lovely en-suite room I was given (Room 5). It was fresh and tastefully decorated with a lovely view down the street. The King size bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the water was hot and plentiful.... More

Fantastic warm reception in this lovely hotel. A great full breakfast rounded off a great visit. Comfortable rooms in this lovely small town. Quiet, but conveniently situated for easy access from A9 or local station. Plenty of local attractions to visit.

I had a lovely stay in the Merryburn on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. My room was attractive and warm and the owner was welcoming, kind and friendly. It was like a kind of refuge in the festive season! Although I had stated that I didn't require breakfast, the owner made everything for a help-myself feast available in... More
