Second time staying at the merryburn hotel absolutely great service, rooms adequately equipped and very cozy. Meals in the hotel are delicious and nothing seems to be a problem and any requests are dealt with by Hilary who really makes you welcome will definitely be back this year.

I stopped off at the Merryburn on my way up to the Moray Firth. I travelled alone and was thrilled with the lovely en-suite room I was given (Room 5). It was fresh and tastefully decorated with a lovely view down the street. The King size bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the water was hot and plentiful.... More

Fantastic warm reception in this lovely hotel. A great full breakfast rounded off a great visit. Comfortable rooms in this lovely small town. Quiet, but conveniently situated for easy access from A9 or local station. Plenty of local attractions to visit.

I had a lovely stay in the Merryburn on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. My room was attractive and warm and the owner was welcoming, kind and friendly. It was like a kind of refuge in the festive season! Although I had stated that I didn't require breakfast, the owner made everything for a help-myself feast available in... More

We discovered this hotel by default and so glad we did. As other reviewers have mentioned Hilary is a helpful and welcoming host and the hotel is fabulous. Can not fault any part of our stay and also excellent value! The cellar bar is great fun too, we enjoyed a few (too many) drinks with the locals!!!

We stopped at the Merryburn as part of a whistle stop tour of Scotland on our motorcycles. A warm welcome, great atmosphere. Good evening meal and very nice breakfast. Motorcycles parked in secure area.

Room was of a high standard - they were a good size and had a great bathroom. Hilary was also a great host. Breakfast was really good and we also enjoyed a drink in the cellar bar at night. We were on bicycles and that was accommodated well. This is a really nice place to stay.
