Fantastic warm reception in this lovely hotel. A great full breakfast rounded off a great visit. Comfortable rooms in this lovely small town. Quiet, but conveniently situated for easy access from A9 or local station. Plenty of local attractions to visit.

Had a great stay at The Merryburn. My friend and I stayed here for 1 night and had room 1 with twin beds and en suite. Comfy beds, nice flat screen TV, tea, coffee facilities and free wifi. The room really cosy which is what you need at this time of year. Hilary is a nice friendly lady who we met... More

I had a lovely stay in the Merryburn on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. My room was attractive and warm and the owner was welcoming, kind and friendly. It was like a kind of refuge in the festive season! Although I had stated that I didn't require breakfast, the owner made everything for a help-myself feast available in... More

We discovered this hotel by default and so glad we did. As other reviewers have mentioned Hilary is a helpful and welcoming host and the hotel is fabulous. Can not fault any part of our stay and also excellent value! The cellar bar is great fun too, we enjoyed a few (too many) drinks with the locals!!!

We stopped at the Merryburn as part of a whistle stop tour of Scotland on our motorcycles. A warm welcome, great atmosphere. Good evening meal and very nice breakfast. Motorcycles parked in secure area.

Room was of a high standard - they were a good size and had a great bathroom. Hilary was also a great host. Breakfast was really good and we also enjoyed a drink in the cellar bar at night. We were on bicycles and that was accommodated well. This is a really nice place to stay.

The Merryburn was lovely. It is right next to the train station and less than a block form a bus stop so it's convenient as a base to explore beyond just Birnam and Dunkeld. The room was lovely. Hilary is great and will bend over backwards to help. Breakfasts were also excellent.

We were travelling through the area and stopped at The Merryburn Hotel for the night for accommodation, wow, what a great discovery we made. Hilary is a lovely, welcoming lady who couldn't do enough for us. She had written some sight seeing points of interests for us which were fantastic! The room was very comfortable, breakfast warm and hearty, and... More

Always happy to return to The Merryburn. Birnam/Dunkeld is a lovely, civilised place and this hotel is excellent value. Hilary is a hard working lady and deserves to succeed. Support The Merryburn and she surely will.
