Chachagua found me through a Living Social invitation. On a whim, I purchased a 7 night stay. it has been a magical Costa Rican immersion vacation. Not touristy at all. The staff here have become my new friends, the accommodations charming, allowing for whatever I am in the mood: hikes, nature tours, night life in the town of Fortuna, and... More

We received great service at this beautiful rainforest retreat. Cottages are very clean and nicely decorated. Service from reception and restaurant was caring and very considerate/ concerned about meeting our needs. I would recommend for couples or families looking for a unique and remote rainforest experience near La Fortuna.

I found the Chachagua Rainforest Hotel in the book "1,000 Places to See Before You Die." Naturally when my husband and I decided to go to Costa Rica for the first time on our honeymoon we wanted to stay in the most unforgettable place we could find. Chacahgua is not like any other hotel I have ever visited. The property... More

My husband and I stayed at chachAgua rainforest hotel from Sep22-25 2014. What a LOVELY experience. You are in the heart of the rainforest and will wake up to the sound of exotic birds. The property is magnificent with ponds, rivers, farm animals, hiking trails, etc. Our guide David really made our stay memorable. He was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! He took... More

My partner and I got a living social deal for Chachagua Rainforest Hotel and Hacienda and had an incredible time! The on-site guide, David, was FANTASTIC! He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the local flora and fauna and went out of his way to go above and beyond to make our stay amazing. He took us on an invigorating... More

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the hotel and we were 100 re-energized and well rested. The entire property is surrounded by nature. Toucans fly around often as well as a variety of other birds. The villas have recently been redone and they are exquisite with clear attention to detail from top to bottom. The beds and pillows... More

The bungalows are large and comfy and have a wonderful porch. Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest at about 5 am, you can't sleep any later as it gets loud. The rooms are clean and bathrooms are large. Only issues, the bathroom has a slat floor which things could fall through and the windows do not lock. As... More

Bungalows are comfy, food is delicious and you can't beat seeing toucans in the morning. Shower can make you feel a little exposed and the road in is terrible, but it's part of the experience. Highly recommended.

We stayed here with another couple, I arranged for a pickup from the Grano de Oro hotel in San Jose, that went well, driver was on time, however the vehicle was in horrible mechanical shape, the rear shocks were just completely shot, and we felt every bump in the road for three hours. Driver was very knowledgeable and friendly however,... More

If you're used to Americanized A/C rooms and room service this probably isn't the choice you should make. But if you're more of a fan of rustic beauty and adventure I would highly recommend this resort. Don't be turned off by the rocky road, which is very bumpy, you need trek in order to reach this hidden paradise, it only... More
