We have just come back from 3 days' of Autumnal trekking in and around Lake Egirdir all of which was spent at Charly's Pension. I'd consider the pension to be a mini-hotel designed around the needs of trekkers and visitors who are looking to experience some of the marvelous scenery, hills and mountains in the area - but a significant... I am a bit at a loss reviewing Charly's Pension in the sense that every other reviews I read about it is overwhelmingly positive. Maybe we did not have the same expectations - mine were high given the prior glowing reviews - and that's where our experience differs. While traveling throughout Turkey my husband and I stayed one night in... More

Sit on the balcony and enjoy a grilled fish while the sun goes down. We had a lovely, creaky wooden room, comfortable, and spent a good bit of time swimming in the lake and watching the sun on the water. The owner was extremely knowledgeable, and gave good advice on walking, fishing, and the Sunday market. We were in Turkey... More

We just stayed for one night as we were driving through. Very warm welcome. Simple room but comfortable and overlooking the beautiful lake. We were offered a welcome cup of tea on the outside terrace in the setting sun. We joined the set meal they offer in the evening, which was delicious and very generous, with lake bass caught that... Arrived here without a booking & was a little apprehensive at first. Muslum immediately put us at ease & we booked in for 2 nights. There is a choice of rooms. New large rooms which looked excellent or old style rooms which are smaller but perfectly adequate & we felt, more homely. There is a limited in house menu for... More

GOOD: Very friendly and attentive staff. Great breakfast, lots of information and the owner and manager always happy to provide local trave/ activities information and advice. Very easy to meet other people to do hikes and other outdoor activities with. Big dorm room with lots of space. Doesnt feel crowded even with 6 bunks in the room. NOT GOOD: One... More

We were recommended Charly's and Lake Egirdir by a guy we met in Goreme, he was so enthusiastic about the accommodation and the area that we took his advice and drove down the next day. We were not disappointed! Extremely friendly, helpful and warm welcome from both Ibrahim & Muslum, our gracious hosts, plus the other kind staff and family... More

I stayed here 3 nights. And could not have been happier! After arriving at 4:30am i was still greated with a smile and they let me nap on the Terrace :) I was the checked into my dorm room. Everything was clean, beds comfy, with fans and aircon (both not used). Breakfast was of Turkish standard and went from 8-11.... More

We chose this pension to break our journey between Capadoccia and the coast. It was perfectly adequate for the one night we spent there. This is a busy pension which is understandable as it commands an amazingly beautiful position, however, it is fairly basic accommodation. Perfectly clean and the service was fine but with just a little more care it... More

Driving from Burdur via Sagalassos we intended to stay somewhere in Isparta while exploring the Lake District. We changed our mind and drove to Egirdir by the lake instead. Egirdir and the island (Ada) have many pansions/hotels, but we chose Charly's which is close to town center, just behind the castle ruins. We met Muslum who spoke excellent english and... More
