This time an August visit to the Wye Valley Hotel, a great weekend of great food and kind hospitality. Long walks with the doggies for this great location in Tintern. Lovely clean rooms, with tea/coffee and freshly baked biscuits everyday. Doggies enjoyed their doggy room and are so well come in the bar. Restaurant dog free for those who prefer.... More

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights 17th - 19th Sept. We had a lovely large room and comfy sitting area. The staff and owners are very nice and helpful. I am a coeliac and I do worry about having a gluten free breakfast|dinner, but I didnt need to worry as Sue (the owner\chief) was more... More

Stayed overnight while attending an wedding nearby. Very friendly and welcoming staff and good value for money. Room faced the main road but was very quiet and although decor a bit dated, bed was very comfortable and excellent powerful shower. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a great choice of tasty local food. Great location, just a short walk through... More

This is a small, family run hotel in a beautiful location. The rooms are clean and large. Owners and staff are helpful and friendly and prices are reasonable. The menu is varied and of good quality. Will definitely stay here again when we go down the Wye valley.

We arrived about 4pm and after a friendly greeting we were shown to our room. My husband was delighted that not only were we offered help with the suitcase but it was carried upstairs for us before we could say no! We were allocated Room 2 and were amazed to find that it was more a suite than a room.... More

Only stayed for one night but our stay was very enjoyable. It was really quiet when we were there after the busy bank holiday. When we got there we were greeted by Grace. A very chatty friendly young lady. Our room was adequate and comfortable. We had lunch in the bar which was so good we thought we'd eat dinner... More

Barry and Sue have remembered what most hotels seem to have forgotten - that customers are important! Great warm welcome, good standard of accommodation for the price, but yes some updating would have meant that the scores would have been higher. Excellent well cooked and presented food and such a pleasant friendly atmosphere that is so missing in bigger, anonymous... More
