Stayed at the hotel in July and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The couple who run the hotel are really friendly and offered suggestions on where to visit. The rest of the staff at the hotel where also great and worth a mention, both (that we met) where extremely friendly and also offered advice from their experiences of... More

There is great walking in the area so we stay here a couple of times a year, it has a great menu. The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. Barry and Sue go the extra mile to help with anything they can. It is always a very pleasant stay whatever time of year we visit. Tintern has local... More

We booked this hotel to stay with our elderly parents, what an excellent choice. We were all made to feel 'part of the family' with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean bathrooms in a homely comfortable environment; so unlike the sterile corporate chains. The food was obviously locally sourced and of excellent quality, nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed for a 3 night break in July 2015 (24th - 27th). Location was very central to the Wye Valley - a beautiful area with many areas for walking; too many for such a short break (we'll have to go back!). While the weather was not at it's best behaviour, owners Barry and Sue made our stay as comfortable... More

Really nice hotel in a fantastic location. Owners (Barry and Sue) make you feel very welcome. Ok it's not the Hilton but doesn't try to be, it is what it is. Food is always nice bedrooms are spotless what more do you want.

We chose this hotel for its location. Top end of Tintern, in the Wye Valley, good for walks, lovely scenery, easy parking. We were allocated room 8, a great room with triple aspect up the Wye Valley. Ensuite, comfortable double bed. No problem from road noise, but the building insulation was poor as we heard the TV from the adjoining... More

I popped in with a friend of mine as a bit of a pit stop as we had been riding round Monmouth and Chepstow taking in all the breathtaking views. I walked in and was greeted by staff, all of which made a conscious effort to say Hi. Initially we only popped in for a drink but after chatting to... More

Have just come back from a week-end stay at this hotel, and cannot recommend enough. The room was a good size, clean, and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a reasonable choice, we had a couple of meals in the evening which were excellent and with a lot of choice on the menu. The hosts are very... More

Popped in here on the off chance with the kids and was pleasantly surprised! Initially felt it might be a bit old fashioned and not what we were after but I was totally wrong. Lovely bar food and super service. Would recommend for families.

We have been to lunch here with a walking group on many occasions and have never been disappointed with the service and the food. I had the Beef, mushroom and red wine pie this time and it was brilliant. A very good place to visit and enjoy good food.
