We made an overnight stay and both my wife and I agree that Tintern Old Rectory was a good choice. It has a quirky charm (in the best sense) and our room was comfortable and clean - with a huge bed. Our hosts were friendly, interesting to talk to, and made sure that we had an excellent breakfast. There were... More

We had a one night stay at this lovely bed and breakfast and wish we had booked longer. A great welcome and a lovely room with a huge bed made us feel instantly at home. Anika and Ian had even provided details of where to eat and menus and were very knowledgeable on the area. The breakfast was super with... More

My two friends and I spent 10 days at the Rectory - longer than most usually do! Anika and Ian were such welcoming hosts that we felt like we were coming "home" at the end of each day. The rooms were large, clean, well equipped, quiet and beautifully decorated - as was the whole home. It had a friendly, warm... More

Arrived quite late and very tired after 70 mile cycle ride (day 4 of LEJOG) and were given a Very warm welcome by Anika and Ian. Ian took the bikes for us and put them away and Anika showed us our room. It was 2 rooms actually, one with a large double bed and one with a very large double... More

Rather than experience Wales through a commercialized hotel, the Old Tintern Rectory Inn, a minute drive from Tintern Abby is a much better way to take in the beauty of the Wye Valley. The beds in the historic house overlooking the river Wye are extremely comfortable and the rooms are large enough to be move about. The breakfasts prepared by... More

Just a one night stay returning from Cornwall. The Old Rectory is very easy to find on the A466. Perfect for a visit to Tintern Abby and walks along the River Wye. Car parking is available and designated and situated directly across the road. The room was spacious with the biggest double bed I have ever seen and wonderfully comfortable.... More

I have only good things to say about our recent stay at the Old Rectory. Ian the landlord was welcoming, the place is in a lovely spot, the room was beautiful and quirky and the breakfast was fantastic, having lovely thick sliced local bacon and sausages from just a few miles away, high quality home made bread and delicious fruit...
