Warm and friendly reception given to us. Anika and Ian are absolutely wonderful hosts. The room was very well kept and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast menu was very extensive and both Ian and Anika work hard to bring a level of service that I can only describe as outstanding. We look forward to returning in the summer to... More

We stayed for a couple of nights while seeing family in the area. We stayed in the family suite with our young daughter. It was perfect having a separate room for her off ours, so we had some privacy but she was close by. The property had bags of character and the owners were very hospitable. There were lots of... Both Anika and Ian are charming hosts. They work very hard to offer an experience just that little more special.tucked away just a stones throw from Tintern Abbey. The bed &breakfast is a cosy spotlessly clean retreat. And offers comfortable beds and sumptious breakfasts. Everything is organic fresh and of good quality the food is to die for The house... More

Stayed here for a weekend, reading the previous review it didn't sound to promising, however I do make my mind up,yes it is slightly rough around the edges, room was very nice, great bed, tea coffee making facilities, we found the room to be clean, nice log fire in the guest common room, with lots of maps and books breakfast was... It has taken a while to get around to write this review, due to my partner suggesting I wait whilst he emails Ian at the Rectory. This email was intended as pointed constructive criticism after our stay was beyond disappointment, we ended leaving the area and driving home straight after breakfast. We only stayed for breakfast to get our money's... More

Lovely view, room adequate, slightly dated and rough around the edges. Unpleasant odor when entering. Welcoming hosts and breakfast quite nice. Fantastic book shop down the road which is well worth a visit.

If straight lines, minimalism, square rooms and modern art are your thing then the Old Rectory Tintern is definitely not for you. This wonky old building is however one of the friendliest and most comfortable B&Bs and is superbly located for exploring the area. The rooms are packed with artefacts from the owners considerable travels and the owners themselves are... More

Small B&B in excellent location for dog walks along Offa's Dyke Path along the riverside. It is old fashioned but in a good way and has a fantastic selection of breakfast foods including salmon omelettes, full breakfasts and a mind-boggling array of jams. Some small issues with a leak in our bathroom but having a family area with a separate... More

We had the 2 dog friendly rooms one of which was also a family room. The family room was actually 2 rooms, both very spacious (although it did not have access to the garden to let the dog out for a wee.) The rooms were very quaintly decorated, but had all the modern facilities. The bed and pillows were lovely... More

Located up a slope and several stone steps, off the sometimes busy road along the river Wye between Monmouth and Chepstow, this B&B commands a superb view over the Wye and meadows beyond, but a disabled person would find the approach difficult. Apart from that, the place is excellent, Ian the proprietor is friendly and helpful, and cooks a very... More
