Annika and Ian are great hosts :-) ! We've enjoyed our stay very much! Tintern and especially the magnificent Tintern Abbey are a joy to visit. Wye Valley is perfect for hiking and exploring castles. We will be back!

Absolutely beautiful! Hosts are so warm and welcoming (and awesome cooks!!). Our room was gorgeous - like something out of a story book. If I ever get back to the UK, I am making sure I come back here.

Great overnight stay here. The decor is reminiscent of staying at your granny's but that just adds to its charm. The proprietors were helpful and friendly and the views from the breakfast room are amazing. We had the family suite which very spacious. Everything was clean and the breakfast was fabulous. Highly recommend!

There are many quaint B&Bs in the area, but this one is well worth the visit because of the great food. Anika and her husband are real "Foodies". All their ingredients are locally sourced or made by hand (Check out the bread). Our room was nice. But our breakfast would have compensated for even a poor room. Wonderful bacon and... More

My husband and I spent three nights at the Old Rectory and absolutely loved it! Not only is it set in the most beautiful part of Wales but Anika and Ian are wonderful hosts. It is a most charming home and we enjoyed a most tranquil stay in the lovely room with access into the beautiful garden. Both Anika and... More

We've just returned from a visit to the Wye valley and were completely blown away by the beauty and tranquility of the area. We booked The Old Rectory based on the excellent Trip Advisor reviews and once again were not let down. We arrived very late on the Friday night to be met by a beaming Ian who was only... More

Ideal for a walking weekend in the Wye valley. Owners were friendly and helpful, giving us useful advice on walking routes, places to eat etc. Rooms were clean, well equipped and individually decorated. Good breakfast with masses of choice and a lot of home made and locally sourced produce. The dining and sitting rooms are quite small - this wasn't... More

My partner and I decided to have a jaunt across to the Wye Valley with my parent's Collie-Doberman cross (Khiva) whilst they managed a particularly disruptive part of their house extension. I stumbled on the Old Rectory through some website or other on pet-friendly B&Bs and was delighted that I did. The house is fantastic and full of character and... More

Had a lovely couple of days at this B&B. Very well located, with views over the Wye. A warm welcome from owners and dogs. Very comfy accommodation, if a bit chintzy. Probably the most extensive B&B breakfast menu we've ever seen and all of it very good. There's little need to eat for the rest of the day.

Lovely place, good price. Owners are delightful, friendly, unobtrusive, open, and welcoming. It's like getting a key to your own house, but SUCH a nice house! Fluffy bedclothes and towels, quiet en-suite rooms, nice views. Fabulous breakfast -- traditional but high-end, with many many choices including local meats and excellent home-made breads and jams. Location is great, along the Wye... More
