Carefully selected displays of rich Zulu culture make this palace a place of cultural wonder! I would recommend it for business or leisure - a very comfortable space for couples looking for an alternitive get away and peace of mind.

I was disappointed by the unfriendly welcome and a very substandard cold breakfast served on one plate without choice or selection, no hot breakfast option available. No drinks available at the bar, nor in the empty bar fridge in my room, not even a bottle of water to be found. I was unable to find any night staff after 8pm... More

I had been fascinated by the pictures of Ammazulu African Palace for some time and eventually decided to give it a try. Still battling to get my mind around my review - to be honest, personal and yet not break the artists heart. Peter wanted to create a museum to showcase his extensive collection of African art but when the... More

This hotel is fantastic. Incredible deoration indeed, but smartly adapted. Spacious rooms, comfortable with a bedroom and a lounge. Very quiet. Very well welcomed ! Nice breakfast. Only drawback: a car is needed fo this hotel, as there is no restaurant at walkable distance.

Just a short drive from the Durban City Centre - Amazulu is an upmarket venue where guests can experience luxurious accommodation depicting unusual architecture and modern African art work .Ideal for a couple's weekend get away - my husband and I spent our wedding anniversary there and we were definitely 100% happy with our choice.A continental breakfast is served on... The photos on the website looked exciting but when we arrived you couldn't imagine the scale of this masterpieces. We were there for two nights so had plenty of time to walk around and really appreciate this work of art and the dedication of the owners. I would like to see it declared a 'Site of Special Interest' for future... More

Apart from the very special and beautiful location with thousands of collectors items, the room and breakfast was super, especially when you have a reduction on booking ;-) A little minus: not close to find some restaurants.

Amazing museum... Never seen anything like it! Lots of creativity and hard work went into creating this masterpiece. Visited couple who stayed there for two nights. Huge pillars decorated. Many African artifacts decorate the hotel and gardens!

Amazing place where 1 night isn't enough to discover the building. Nice welcome, great room, excellent breakfast.. location a bit difficult to find. We really recommend this place to saty, and immerse ourselves in the strange atmosphere created by the owner and his friends.
