We ate here a while ago and liked the atmosphere so decided we would stay next time we were in the area. We stayed for Christmas and New Year, and we have completely fallen in love with the place. It is a superb base for walking, you can just park up and forget about the car if you want to.... More

We stayed here for a quick get away from work and was really pleased with our choice. We were late arriving and they were just about to close thinking we were not coming but even with us arriving late it was not a problem and even opened the bar for us to have a drink or too. The owners were... More

I am French and therefore very fussy with my food so I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area. The staff was very friendly, the log... More

This is a well-furnished country pub with an extensive range of drinks and a good menu. The decor is warm and welcoming and the staff are pleasant and efficient. The food is fairly stardard pub grub but nicely presented and good value. All in all a very pleasant establishment. More

We were staying at another hotel put decided to eat here one night. The menu was extensive for a country pub, but the quality was excellent. We had a lovely meal in front of an open fire. Wonderful. The staff were very friendly. Fantastic. More

We came upon the charming, very traditional English hotel in early Sept. on our way to trek in the Lakes area, and the bar and lounge area won us over. We didn't have a booking, but immediately decided to stay two nights, due to great walks nearby. Set in a tiny village, surrounded by rivers and stone bridges, with the... More
