I paid for my parents to stay at the pooley bridge inn and they absolutely loved it. They stayed with there dog and were overjoyed with the fact he could go in the bar rather than leaving him in the room, he also loved sticking his head through the bars on the balcony in the room. The meal they had... More

Two of us had the fish which was tasteless, one had steak, tough as old boots and the last had the pie, not really sure what was in it!! It's all self service... More

Stayed here at the end of June with my wife. The room was clean , but on one occasion no beverages were left in the room also no cups or spoons. The evening meal on one occasion was not pleasant at all , the bar at the end of the eating area packed full of football supporters making excessive noise... More

This is a pub, so expect a bit of noise until closing time, especially Fri/Sat night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good and it's a popular spot. Good location for walking and exploring the lakes. Room was tidy and clean.

Stayed one night on a weekend and its very good value for the location its in: bedrooms are ok without having any 'wow' factor: balcony on the front-facing bedrooms are lovely to sit out on and people watch: bed was uncomfortable, mattress hard and very low but we were very tired after a full day out in the Lakes so... in a beautiful setting. I love Ullswater and was so chuffed to be able to get a room on a sunday evening. The food is great and the staff chatty and friendly. Has been recently taken over and the bedrooms have been revamped and the bar area is next on the agenda but it has a quaint charm. All rooms... More

We didn't stay, just went for dinner on a whim after walking round the lake. Food was gorgeous, beautifully cooked, good value, perfect really. Staff warm and friendly, keen and smart. Someone can really cook here.
