A lovely traditional inn in a beautiful spot at the head of Ullswater. Rooms OK but not modern, en suite small and ours lacked a mirror, but a four-poster bed made up for it. Dinner was superb and reasonably priced.

We stayed here last week and were given a very warm welcome by the staff. During our stay, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very clean and comfortable, but decor was quite dated. Evening meals are served in the restaurant, however service was very slow. We were not affected, but two tables close by were complaining. Breakfast is... More

Stayed at the Pooley Bridge Inn last week for three nights. What a great place to stay. My room, a twin on the top floor, was so comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were very attentive and it really is a very friendly hotel/restaurant/pub. The full breakfast was HUGE, didnt need to eat again until evening! The Vegetarian Chilli (very... More

The good Great location, friendly staff. Now the bad At times the bar was understaffed during the meal times, 2 girls working hard to serve food, clear up, take orders and trying to serve the thirsty. The food was typical pub grub, menu was short and unimaginable. Prices about right for the Lake District. Although a nice hotel, it is... More

What a super dog friendly hotel . Great with the baby too. Food served to fit in with very haphazard ordering. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I was a bit concerned as toddlers and dogs can be hard to cater for. The bed rooms were warm and very clean and the breakfast is massive .

My wife and I ate here last night. I had the gammon and chips my wife had the lemon sole. This came with mange tout and crushed new potatoes. My wife asked for chips rather than new potatoes and the girl serving us said this was not possible as the kitchen was being funny tonight? Also stated the kitchen doesn't... More

We've been here before and didn't really rate it. This time was different, we were made to feel very welcome. Staff were great and our food was very tasty. I had the beef roast, the kids had pizza and scampi. Will definitely be returning. Thank you 🍗

We ate here on Saturday night and had a fabulous meal. We were able to bring our dog so we choose this pub for our meal. We were served by a lovely girl with a Birmingham accent who couldn't do enough for us, she made a fuss of my very tired little girl and my dog. Menu was great with... More

Visited Pooley Bridge after taking one of the Ullswater Steamers and, after quickly realising there is very little in this village worth seeing, had a drink in the Pooley Bridge Inn. The staff behind the bar were friendly and attentive and there were some comfortable seats. However, glancing at the food menu, it was clear that bringing a packed lunch... More

Oh, What can I say..Visited for a one night stay on Easter Sunday. Waited 30 mins to be shown to room, after asking twice and was greeted by a young girl who couldn't make eye contact with us, Stayed in room 6, decent room with balcony and an oak four poster bed (very firm mattress) with en suite, shower, free...
