We stayed last minute, food and pub both brilliant, we have eaten here before, as it's dog friendly. My opinion of room however was poor, bed was uncomfy and because staff are busy in the bar it's difficult to voice any problems with rooms, our tv didn't work so had to go to bar to ask for help. Visited numerous times whilst staying in the area. Food was gorgeous, very generous portions. Extremely dog friendly. Exactly what we were looking for. We will definitely be going back when we return to the area.

Lovely characterful pub and hotel in a beautiful location. Excellent choice of food and beers and the service was good too. Very relaxing atmosphere and a couple of hours in front of the log fire was just the ticket. We'll be back.

Just came back home this afternoon from what was meant to be an overnight stay but ended up booking a second night. Took my dog with me and she was made just as welcome as I was. She could sit in the bar with me while I had a drink or even while having something to eat. The staff were... More

Amazing staff and the dog was very welcome by all. Great food on the menu, very large portions. Will return. We had the family room as it was the only room left at short notice, at least the dog could stretch out after the fantastic walks. Big thanks to all staff.

Stayed here in January 2014, rooms are a good size, everything worked fine. Breakfast was ok, nothing great, normal things like toast, cereal full English etc. Scrambled eggs had a lot of salt, and coffee was terrible. They had a cock up with several of the room keys where the key to get in the main doors after hours didn't... More
