We have just spent New Years Eve and New Years Day at the Pooley Bridge Inn. What a fantastic time! We had a 3 course meal which was beautifully cooked and served. How they served 50 customers with a 3 course meal so smoothly was all down to the excellent management and hard work from the management, kitchen and staff.... More

Stayed as a couple in Oct with our dog. Was surprised to find a 4 poster bed in a lovely, warm and cosy room with a balcony and a welcome dog chew for our Doggy outside. Make sure you book a reservation for dinner. A lovely relaxing short break hotel in the quiet village of Pooley Bridge within short walking... More

We have stayed in Pooley Bridge for several years in November as a group of us do a trail race in Ulswater ... We could not stay in the usual b&b so tried this place . On arrival they appeared to have no understanding we were booked in and the staff left us waiting in the bar for 20 minutes... More

Travelled down from Dundee for a surprise get together for my father's 80th birthday. Nice traditional place, staff all very helpful and friendly. My wife and I had room 6 which was very nice, four post bed and balcony to rear, clean spacious and comfortable. My son and nephew were in room 10 (I think) which was a bit more... More

After a family walk to Ullswater we stopped for lunch at this great pub. Friendly service and relaxed setting. Happy to allow dog in bar. Food was fantastic both on cost and quality. Kids dishes were fresh and better quality than many other local pubs. This is a great place for all; family, friends, couples, walkers and more. Highly recommend.

We've visited the Pooley Bridge Inn on two occasions. The first was in an evening when it looked very busy, everyone appeared to be eating and the atmosphere just seemed, well ...quiet. We decided to leave and have drinks at a pub across the road. However we did like the look, size, decor of the place, so we gave it... More

Clean and comfortable rooms, exactly as described. Great food in the inn, staff were super friendly and helpful. We took our dog and he was welcomed everywhere, and allowed with us for breakfast and dinner. Just over the bridge to the steam boat, and there is a bus stop literally outside the pub. Great weekend!

Stayed for only 1 night on our way to Glasgow, after friends recommended this hotel. Very nice older type hotel with quaint rooms & balconies. We were made very welcome by the young lady who met us (sorry I forget her name) and booked us in, showing us to our room. We had evening meal (slightly more expensive than other... More

Pooleys bridge inn a great place where you can relax by the fire and enjoy a few drinks. The food here is excellent, tasty and homely as well as being reasonably priced. The rooms are absolutely perfect for a short stay, clean, warm great if you have dogs. It's a pet friendly place that I would look forward to coming... More

Based in a small Lake District village this old coaching Inn is a reasonably priced B&B with lovely rooms and helpful staff. Just a 5min wander is the Ullswater steamer and hilly walks are everywhere around the majestic lake. An old style ranch exterior with plenty of outdoor seating, some undercover in a cleverly designed rear yard - alcoves around... More
