In a little hollow on the main road, the hotel was very quiet and the food excellent at both dinner and breakfast. The owner was very helpful when we experienced a problem with our car. The hotel was very quiet when we visited.

A first time visit to Arran, put simply, not our last. We loved the Lagg Hotel with its quirky character and olde worldy style. Restaurant was good and bar prices reasonable. All the staff were friendly and efficient. It was great to escape the city for a few days and the remoteness and distance from the outside world allowed us... More

Booked 4 rooms for the 15-17th October 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was in a quiet location away from the crowds. We were looked after very well by all the members of staff, they couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were great and the food, absolutely superb. We used the hotel / location to explore the... More

Stayed our last night of a touring holiday in Scotland here, and pleased to say was a good choice. A good size room. Hotel has character, and good food. Enjoyed a walk straight from the hotel to the sea, passing by an ancient cairn.

I have been to arran before but never realised this little gem was here. The owner Mary and her staff were totally awesome as were the locals and could not do enough to make my stay more welcome. The location is lovely especially for a couple wanting to just get away for peace n quiet, (I was travelling alone but... More

My wife and I stayed on Arran for a week in September 2015. Having previously visited The Lagg Hotel another visit was a must, especially as the weather wasn't allowing outdoor activities on the day. We had coffee and scones and had the company of the hotel dog, Charlie. After relaxing a while in their lounge we ate lunch. Both... More

Called in for lunch and received a very friendly welcome. Menu not extensive but ideal Scottish lunch choices. Served quickly by waiting staff who had a very good attitude. Highly recommend this venue. Good Scottish hospitality .Worth searching out.

Ideal stop for a trip round Arran -- good food and comfortable bed -- an older type Hotel with a log fire in the Lounge area. Not far from Brodick which is your landing point on the island for the ferry crossing from Ardrossan.

Great meals here. I had Pino Grigio and sea bass here. The cabbage was good too. My boyfriend had fish and chips which were good too. The sticky toffee cake was excellent! We stayed down the road at Lochside Inn at Blackwater Foot so I can't comment on the rooms.

We had our wedding here & we couldn't have chosen anywhere better. Nothing was too much trouble for Mary & her lovely staff. The rooms were spotlessly clean - especially the bathrooms. Excellent food , log fires & beautiful gardens with red squirrels & wild birds We can thoroughly recommend it for a relaxing break .
