we thought we had booked a nights stay in the Lagg inn , but due to a bit of confusion on our part we had not booked correctly through the late booking website. But, although the inn was full on the day we arrived the owner could not have been more helpful and organised us a night in another hotel.... More

We enjoyed a two night stay in this pleasant hotel. The staff were efficient and cheerful and the food was excellent with a good choice. We ate evening meals in the bar with a log fire - lit even though it was "summer" and breakfast in the restaurant/ function room which had old furniture but this married well with the... More

Spent a couple of nights here in the 'four poster' room. Lovely! Great walks nearby, especially one opposite the hotel, going to the ancient Cairn through the woods and then to the beach. Lots of parking. SUPER staff and owner Mary. Left something behind and they graciously forwarded it on to me. Highly recommend.

One of the most picturesque hotels you can imagine; great looks, great staff but..... How it would improve with a revamp. Our room needed a good refreshing and the menu also would benefit from some new ideas. Problem is that it is right at the southern tip of Arran and lacks competition. But with a good makeover it could be... More

Been to arran many many times and never visited The Lagg before, not sure why as the food is excellent. Had a delicious family lunch here and plan to return before our holiday is over. The food was delicious and the service first and extremely friendly. The chips are to die for. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Room quaint, hotel lovely in a beautiful location my a stream. The hotel manager was wonderful, due to a ferry strike she in her kindness altered our booking saving us a nights stay which we could not have given there were no ferry crossing. The food was outstanding and presented in a lovely way. I will recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Went for a family meal and we all had a fantastic time! The hotel is beautiful with lovely grounds. The restaurant was lovely, staff were friendly and attentive and the food was superb!! A really nice ambiance too! It is a little remote but I think that adds to its character. Will definitely be going again!

The hotel is down in a dip with no view of the sea, surrounded by trees which was not good when the midges came out.I felt the hotel was somewhat antiquated...the bar was small and was used for evening meals, when they had a good sized diningroom with plenty of space. The room was comfortable,if a little on the small side as was... The hotel is very attractive, in a lovely setting and a good location at the bottom of this very pretty island. The meals were excellent. The room was comfortable, with plenty of space for relaxing and for our suitcases. The staff were friendly and efficient. To my great consternation I left without a bag of all my medicines that I... The location is lovely and the food was excellent as was the service. The only thing we could complain about was the noise from other rooms and having no blinds on the windows, as the light steamed in at 5am in the morning, and perhaps we were just unlucky having someone next door to us who had an upset stomach....
