Stayed here for 1 night recently. Our trip started on a bit of a bad note as we hadn't booked the car on the ferry and we were told the ferries where full and there was no guarantee we would get off the next day - we couldn't risk getting stuck on so we went as foot passengers - moral... More

passed this lovely old hotel many times and we were keen to book a short stay. Unfortunately it didn't really live up to our expectations. The rooms were reasonably comfortable but if you are going to advertise them as having a TV it would be nice if there was better reception. Very dated old TV with a snowy picture. Food... More

On a cycling trip around Arran we called in to the Lagg Hotel for a break from the rain. It was a real refuge, so cosy and welcoming. Service was friendly and efficient. We got the last double and enjoyed the comfortable lounge by a log fire (in the middle of 2015 summer!) meanwhile our cycling gear dried out ready... More

I loved the location, although it rained none stop when I was there, nice feel to a pub type hotel, good food served, friendly bar atmosphere were I had my evening meal, and a well cooked enjoyable breakfast in the morning. Free Wi-Fi but don't expect it to work due to the location, get more than one using it and... More

Were driving around the south of Arran and found the Lagg just by chance at tea-time ! It was surrounded by lovely gardens and so we parked and went in for tea. We had the best Earl Grey tea we have ever drunk and fruit cake to die for. We were invited to sit in the sun lounge which was... More

we thought we had booked a nights stay in the Lagg inn , but due to a bit of confusion on our part we had not booked correctly through the late booking website. But, although the inn was full on the day we arrived the owner could not have been more helpful and organised us a night in another hotel.... More

We enjoyed a two night stay in this pleasant hotel. The staff were efficient and cheerful and the food was excellent with a good choice. We ate evening meals in the bar with a log fire - lit even though it was "summer" and breakfast in the restaurant/ function room which had old furniture but this married well with the... More

Spent a couple of nights here in the 'four poster' room. Lovely! Great walks nearby, especially one opposite the hotel, going to the ancient Cairn through the woods and then to the beach. Lots of parking. SUPER staff and owner Mary. Left something behind and they graciously forwarded it on to me. Highly recommend.

One of the most picturesque hotels you can imagine; great looks, great staff but..... How it would improve with a revamp. Our room needed a good refreshing and the menu also would benefit from some new ideas. Problem is that it is right at the southern tip of Arran and lacks competition. But with a good makeover it could be... More
