Stayed at this charming hotel for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding reception in the castle next door. Cannot fault anything (for a change): the setting is very romantic and apt for weddings, the service is exceptional - thanks to the lovely Katia on reception. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable, from booking a hairdresser... More

We spend a night in this small hotel during a week in october. The garden was in the middle of autumn, trees and bushes were changing color and the sun shining over the castle was giving an impression of tale. The small hotel is like a museum of modern art: the medieval building has been completely renewed and carefully furnished... More

Italy is a country with an enormous cultural potential. Unfortunately, the recent economical situation is putting many of the known and unknown historical gems in danger. I am personally convinced that only private citizens will be able to maintain and promote historical masterpieces in the years to come. "La locanda del re guerriero" is one of these examples. The place... More

This is one of my favorite hotels in Italy for several reasons. While it is the best stop for us when visiting the designer outlets of Fidenza and Serravalle, it is a unique gem hidden away in the dusty, deteriorating outskirts of greater Milan. It is a boutique hotel decorated with modern art, having that wonderful design touch of Italians,... More

We stayed there for one night on our way to Milan from Toscana. It is very nice and quite place. The stuff, actually that were just 2 receptionist (one in the evening, and in the morning), was very nice and help full. Since it was low season, we asked about recommendation re: restaurant around, and suggestion was very good. The... More

A precious place in a marvellous park, filled by the owner with passionately selected pieces of modern art. We were travellling with two chlidren (2 and 4), and had an extra bed and a baby bed placed into our room. Everything worked smoothely, service was charming and great. The childrens cups for the hot chocolate in the morning were a sensation... More

The best experience we had on our trip to Italy. Lovely hotel, very clean and lovely rooms, possibility for family rooms, beautiful setting, excellent service... Only the best of comments. We will certainly be recommending this hotel and look forward to coming back! Thank you to the 2 lovely hosts!

We spent 3 nights while touring the Parma/Emilia reggiano countryside. The hostesses were helpful in all our requests. After having large lunches we were happy to return to our lodgings with cheese, ham, and wine of the region and snack on the terrace. The junior suites are really just a bedroom with no sitting areas. Be ready to self serve... More
