After two weeks in Rarotonga and Aitutaki, I had an opportunity to stay at the Sunset Resort for three nights before headin back to Vancouver. I was tired and ready to come home, to be honest. But when I got to the Sunset Resort, my mood changed and I was so pleasantly surprised at this great accommodation! All the staff... more

we have recently returned from our 10 day vacation where we stayed at the sunset resort our last visit was 2 years ago when it had not long been reopened.over that period the grounds and gardens have all matured and made the resort a very attractive and quiet place to stay.the poolside bar is great with the extra space that... more

We stayed here for 5 nights on our 4th trip to Raratonga and found it to be the best yet. We stayed in a beachfront room which was large, clean and the kitchenette well equipped, the shower was good. Whilst the continental breakfast lacked variety it was sufficient for our needs, we dined several times at the restaurant during our... more

My wife and I have just returned from a World Tour. One of our stops on our tour was The Sunset Resort in Rarotonga. We arrived from the "Hell" of Las Vegas to the "Heaven" of Rarotonga and The Sunset Resort. We were met by Kimi and taken to our beautifully appointed Beach Studio - perfect. If you want to... more

We stayed at Sunset Resort for the second half of our honeymoon and although we weren't expecting anything like the first place we stayed (Sea Change Villas) it was a little deflating walking into the room with sparce furniture, a little TV with no Sky, and a bed which was two singles pushed together - one of which was comfyer... more

Come here if you want a resort that is quiet and relaxing. At brekfast the restaurant was full yet when you are at the resort... more

The Sunset has had some mixed reviews, and I can see why. However, overall, it exceeded our expectations and the only disadvantage was the food service - but there are several good restaurants within walking distance of The Sunset. The Sunset enjoys a great setting and location. It is quiet and peaceful, well-maintained and the room we stayed at, overlooking... more

We stayed at 3 hotels and resorts on our 12 day trip to the Cookies and this was the only average place we stayed. The other 2 resorts were either AMAZING (Etu Maoana 5 star Aitutaki) or very good (Manuia 31/2 to 4 star Rarotonga) (see separate reviews). We had a beach bungalow which was very adequate and very close... more

We were a little tentative about staying here after reading an earlier review from jj-the-jetsetter but are so glad that we chose to ignore it. In my opinion there was no faulting Sunset Resort. Our stay was perfect in every way. LOCATION: After reading other people's reviews we were a bit worried that we'd be stuck in the middle of... more
