There is something about this Guesthouse that I can put my finger on. None the last I can only highly recommend it. The staff is brilliant, friendly and helpful, the food is very good, the atmosphere very nice and the surrounding area is beautiful. Since it used to be a boarding school one can of course not expect a Hilton... More

We went to Núpur for a couple of nights, great reception, I thought the staff was really nice and helpful with information and such. The breakfast was really good and energetic, always freshly baked bread and Lýsi available. Dinner was superior and you can tell the fish is fresh from the fjords along with everything else. Rooms are very clean,... More

This guesthoue is in a charming old school house. Good restaurant where the fish is delicious. In 5-10 minutes walk you can find Iceland oldest botanic garden Skrúður, nice beach, and this is great area for walking and watching the birdlife.

Me and my family stayed there for two nights in June and it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff was friendly. The fact that the hotel is a former boarding school makes the stay different from a regular hotel experience and on the grounds there is an old church and cemetery dating... More

Stayed one night here at this stunning location. What a paradise it is, clean air and beautiful nature all around. Breakfast was plentyful with fresh fruits and dairy products. All the staff here are really welcoming and warm. Cant wait to visit again.

Stayed there for two night with my family and it was very nice. There is something different from other guesthouses if you stay in an old schoolhouse with its unique history hanging over and coloring the atmosphere. The rooms are small but nice and the beds very comfortable. The staff was friendly, the breakfast good, and the food excellent; fish... More

I wouldn't recommend this guesthouse. It's too far out of the way (across the fjord from Thingeyri). It looks nice from the outside but the rooms are very small and smell musty. The head of the beds are against the heater so I slept at the foot of the bed so I wouldn't hit my head on the valve of... More

This is backpacker-style accommodation in a stunning location. The building is an old boarding school and it feels like it still is one. Rooms are as basic as they come, even if you get a private one. A very basic bed, thin bedding, and absolutely nothing else. The 'ensuite' was located across the passage - a good enough bathroom but... More

All we wanted was a time for our self's and that's what we got. Drove from Reykjavík in a big storm and arrived late Monday night. Room is small but clean. Wish we had one single bed but made nice and cosy queen out of the two single in the room. Sink in room and shower and toilet on the... More

Stayed at Nupur for six night and in few words the stay was great – clean rooms and superb service from the manager and his staff. If you are looking for guesthouse in this area Nupur is absolutely the place.
