My wife and I recently visited the area and stayed in one of the Inn rooms which are next to the mansion. The Inn rooms are nothing fancy and are substandard in my opinion. Our dimly lit room included only one wooden chair, an old TV (not a flat screen), a well used bedspread, outdoor/heavy use carpeting, an old uncomfortable... More

Our room was extremely basic. We did not even have a dresser to put our clothes in. The matress needed to be replaced. It smelled stale. The shower ran out of hot water quite quickly. We could have stayed at the Best Western for much less and had a better room.

Stayed over the holiday weekend. The place was dated and need some updating, however the service was fantastic. We even had a fantastic late night desert downstairs. Our room was clean & quiet, and in the morning we enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast. If there was new carpet, new mattress, & and a new TV, this would be five stars.

This is the type of place you buy a postcard from. The food was phenomenal and everyone was so friendly. The rooms are older but that is also kind of the entire point of the mansion. Not really sure how you could expect anything else. If you want timeless charm and a spectacular view the Esperanza is the place for... More

Amazing!!! If you want to travel back to an endless moment in time, it's the Esperanza Mansion. The inside halls were wide and elegant. The balcony was stunning for everyone to enjoy. We stayed on the second floor of the mansion. The room was clean with central air. The decor was that of the Victorian era. I felt like a queen... More

I was at a wedding reception here in August 2014.. The staff was too small and service was slow. The food was good but service made it less than good. The most disturbing and dangerous was the security staff of two huge thugs. They were in there 20`s and carried a 38 caliper 45 or caliper guns on their hips... More

We at the Esperanza Mansion are very sorry if the security bothered you. Unfortunately we have had to many situations where it was completely necessary to have security on property. We do employ security from the Steuben County Sheriffs Dept! It is also required that they wear a shirt with the NYS Sheriffs Association on them. The night in question... More

Our friends gave us a gift certificate for an Inn room overnight+ dinner, to use on Mon-Wed. They told us to go on Wed because of the weekly wine tasting/food pairing event. The weather was great - we enjoyed our view at lunch+ dinner on the terrace. Food was good, but I agree with another review that said to skip... More

Bar and dining area are attractive with a warm feel and nice views however the food and lodging are over-priced. Rooms in the mansion are far better than the adjacent motel but this is not an upscale inn by any means. Victorian period furniture and cheaply updated bathrooms make it over-priced.

Really nice views. Place is rustic. Thought our room would be in the mansion but was next to it. The room was cheap. Not real tiles in bathroom. Bed was big and comfortable. Front staff was polite and helpful.

Do you enjoy paying $200 a night to stay at a sub-mediocre motel? Then Esperanza Mansion may be right for you. Without any indication we were being put in the Esperenza “Inn” and paying more than any rate advertised for the “Inn” we were directed to a sad-looking two-level structure built into a hill next door to the mansion. The... More
