I was at a wedding reception here in August 2014.. The staff was too small and service was slow. The food was good but service made it less than good. The most disturbing and dangerous was the security staff of two huge thugs. They were in there 20`s and carried a 38 caliper 45 or caliper guns on their hips... More

We at the Esperanza Mansion are very sorry if the security bothered you. Unfortunately we have had to many situations where it was completely necessary to have security on property. We do employ security from the Steuben County Sheriffs Dept! It is also required that they wear a shirt with the NYS Sheriffs Association on them. The night in question... More

Our friends gave us a gift certificate for an Inn room overnight+ dinner, to use on Mon-Wed. They told us to go on Wed because of the weekly wine tasting/food pairing event. The weather was great - we enjoyed our view at lunch+ dinner on the terrace. Food was good, but I agree with another review that said to skip... More

Bar and dining area are attractive with a warm feel and nice views however the food and lodging are over-priced. Rooms in the mansion are far better than the adjacent motel but this is not an upscale inn by any means. Victorian period furniture and cheaply updated bathrooms make it over-priced.

Really nice views. Place is rustic. Thought our room would be in the mansion but was next to it. The room was cheap. Not real tiles in bathroom. Bed was big and comfortable. Front staff was polite and helpful.

Do you enjoy paying $200 a night to stay at a sub-mediocre motel? Then Esperanza Mansion may be right for you. Without any indication we were being put in the Esperenza “Inn” and paying more than any rate advertised for the “Inn” we were directed to a sad-looking two-level structure built into a hill next door to the mansion. The... More

Our daughter was married at Esperanza in June. One word, exceptional in every way. Heidi and her staff worked closely with us for more than six months. The team work was smooth and left us very confident the day would go without a hitch and it did. They served 250 people with ease. The food and service received many compliments... More

This was our second trip to the Esperanza Mansion, and our stay was as enjoyable as the first. Totally quiet and private (we were there during the week, which ensures a laid-back atmosphere). Great service. Friendly vibe. Memorable view. The rooms in the mansion are just wonderful. I would enthusiastically recommend this for any couple looking for a romantic getaway.... More

Dated, tired place. For the price (approximately $250) they don't even help you with your bags which you get carry up stairs. King sized bed with 2 flat pillows and a bad mattress. Had a TV style which I have not seen in 10 years. A Motel style continental breakfast which no one bothered to mention was even available when... More

I feel taken advantage of, after traveling the world including third world countries with my husband I never felt compelled to write a review before staying at this 'boutique' hotel. I awoke the first day of our vacation a little late and did not understand I would need to wait 7 minutes (we timed it the second day to be... More

Nice enough place, but the last thing you experience before leaving is the breakfast. I've had better breakfast at a truckstop. A pedestrian assortment of unimpressive items, coffee that was little more than brown water, etc.
