We had no intention of staying in Kasserine, which the Lonely Planet calls the dullest town in Tunisia. Our impression was that it was also the dirtiest, with rubbish strewn all over the streets. (Having said that, we did meet some very friendly people there.) We were trying to get from Sbeitla to Le Kef on an important Islamic holiday... More

Kasserine has a very limited choice of hotels, which is a great shame given is good central location for visiting various roman sites. Having looked at the others and because a huge thunder storm had just broken we decided to stay at the Amaidra. It is of a bizarre design with rooms that have windows that open in to vast... More
