Wild Mahseer was a unique experience and if you are considering visiting Assam in the north east of India well worth doing. Situated in a working tea plantation with the accommodation in the historic tea planters bungalows. Each bungalow is very private and has its own staff. Ours was two bedroom (another couple were in the other) with lounge, sun... More

We stayed at Wild Mahseer as a family in 2013 to celebrate my wife's birthday. It's an old tea garden estate of Britisher's time which was bought and developed by a passionate couple from the area. One can see their heart and soul being put into developing these bungalows to ultimate and intricate taste and standards. It's a home stay... More

This hotel is situated not far from Tezpur, adjoining a tea estate. It is formed from several colonial era bungalows with 2 or 3 rooms in each bungalow, each serviced by 2 girls who are available 24 hours for tea, coffee, snacks etc. The food was excellent - but there is zero information as to when meals are served, where,... This is not my first visit to the Wild Mahseer award winning 22 acre Heritage property. With 5 tastefully renovated bungalows each with its own beautifully manicured garden, it is a secret sanctuary. On property practise your putting, play croquet, learn about organic practices at the on-site Balipara Foundation Office or wander in the mature tropical jungle. If you want... More

Stayed for 2 nights here (October' 2014) and the experience was really really good; the stay was extremely comfortable and the service was outstanding. Each and every member working here serves with all their heart. Mr. Singh - The head of this place was extremely humble. The walk in the Tea Estate was breathtaking and the Icing on the cake... Think more along the lines of a house stay - with warm, welcoming Hardev and Najma as hosts. This is a slice of life as a tea planter, with gardens, terraces, breakfast tea, and meals served with grace and a smile. Hardev and Najma will entertain and delight you with their company, and will go the extra mile to make... More

It has been over three years since I was last here and I thought it was great then, however it is even better. I have no hesitation in recommending Wild Mahseer to anyone who wants to spend some special time in the NE of India. A stunning place and easy to get to other places. The staff are brilliant.

Our stay at Wild Mahseer was unlike anything we had ever experienced before. The old world charm of the bungalow, the classic furniture and the peace and quiet left us spellbound. There is plenty to do and the three days we spent there were fun and eventful. The river rafting and jungle trek at the nearby Eco Camp are thoroughly... More

Stayed for 5 nights April 10-16. It's a tranquil gem of a spot surrounded by a working tea plantation. The staff was very friendly and as helpful as possible - sometimes it was hard to understand each other. Big Boss, Mr Singh, and the catering manager were always around, friendly and answered any and all questions. The room, Silver Tips,... More
