The best thing about this hotel is the climate! Compared to Accra (hot, damp) and Tamale (very hot, dry) it's cool and on one morning we thought about wearing a sweater! The location of the lodge is great, but a bit remote if you don't have your own transport. The rooms and the food are OK, but nothing special. The... More

Hotel in very nice location and really close to some good tourist attractions. Simple but comfortable lounge area with nice view on the hills. Very simple guestrooms with not very clean bathrooms. Food not the best and better to not look at the dirty kitchen. If you decide to use the car service make sure to check the bizarre currency... More

We were two families with three kids aged 3-7 between us. Before we arrived, we thought that the kids would be bored. However, the hotel is quite unusual and enjoyable for all. The drive from Accra is about four hours. We avoided the weekend lineup at the Akosombo ferry (the bridge is closed for two years for repairs) by driving... More

Price and service-wise this establishment is exceptional and, without doubt, in a class of its own. My wife, 5-year-old little boy and I spent four days over Christmas in this aptly described mountain paradise and we will long recall fond memories of our time there far in the future. If you are expecting the Dorchester you will be disappointed, but... More

I was the only guest both nights I stayed, so the whole place was really quiet. The food and service were good though, and Tony the owner was attentive, suggesting a hike down to the river with a guide and a trip to Tafi Atome monkey sanctuary. The hike was very sweaty, and the monkey sanctuary was excellent, although Tony's... More

The views over the hills are really brilliant from this hotel. You feel like you are in the jungle version of an alpine refuge. The surrouding forest provide good grounds for hiking and adventuring. If you don't get lost (we did) you can hike to the top of Mt Gemi in 2hours. The food was good. The staff is friendly... More

Other than the beautiful view, the facility is run down. Over stuffed with cheap decoration and no customer service. No toilet paper upon arrive, the door would not close unless locked, dreadful dusty carpets, reptile droppings in the bathroom, unpleasant cook who hates her job. Not a mountain paradise...

We spent two days in the Volta region at two different hotels. Mountain Paradise was by far the better of the two hotels. It is obvious that Tony, the owner/manager, is hands on and passionate about hospitality. The service from the staff was excellent-very attentive and prompt with every request. The rooms are small but with an ensuite washroom and... More

Really good place to stay to explore the surrounding area. It is very secluded, on the top of a hill with a truly beautiful view. There is lots to do nearby and the hiking is brilliant. Really friendly staff, who are super helpful. Great ghanaian food. Basic accommodation, but then you don't come here for the luxury.

Our 13 year old described it as "serene and romantic." The setting was astonishing, possessing all of a spur, with the valley dropping off steeply on both sides - I actually got a bit nervous going through the ruts in the (guardrail-free) entry drive - but everything was fine. The food was really good. As someone else stated, it's a... More
