Pretty faultless all round really. Everything about the place and the people was of a high order. Good attention to detail without being fussy and pretentious. Nice walks nearby albeit hilly. Really enjoyed my stay. Ideal for couples too.

We selected this hotel from a short list within striking distance of Ludlow for a 2 night weekend break with friends and our choice was a good one. Very welcoming informal bar area, good breakfasts and nice evening meal choices (see separate restaurant review). The service from Phil was unobtrusive and there to help if we needed anything, although the... More

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. The bar was very busy on the Saturday evening, but apologies for the ’dizzy’ bar lady. Our staff are normally more on the ball than that. You booked your rooms with us through our website and so enjoyed the £5 per room per night discount we... More

We booked up at The Baron as we had previously eaten a very enjoyable meal there. The Baron did not fail with its accommodation either. Good sized room (no 5) which was well furnished and spotlessly clean. Delicious evening meal and breakfast served by very hospitable hosts. Great walking to be had in the Shropshire Hills either from the doorstep... More

What a fantastic place to stay. The place is welcoming with a choice of traditional bar with a pool / snooker table and then the restaurant which is homely and spacious at the same time. The owners have a real eye for detail, this is evident in the bar and restaurant with a beautiful patio which has ample space for... More

We have just returned from our fourth stay at this gem of a family run country pub with rooms. As always a very warm welcome from Phil on arrival before going to our very comfortable room which still has the 'just re-furbished' look being spotlessly clean with the en-suite gleaming. Comfortable beds, biscuits and chocolate every day and fluffy towels... More

We stayed at the Baron on the 2nd and 3rd October, the surroundings were breath taking, the facilities exceptional, and the staff and hosts Phil and Debra did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable!!!! The rooms looked as if they were only finished the day before, and the food well, what can we say FANTACTIC!!!!! The only fault, we... More

Stayed for two nights and was very impressed with the room and comfy bed. Extremely clean throughout. The food was tasty and well presented. Location was excellent for walking in the beautiful Shropshire Hills. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for one night, and had evening dinner too. This was one of the best hotels I've been to in recent years. It was clean, comfortable, the food was excellent and the owners were most welcoming and obviously pay close attention to make sure everything is running smoothly. It seemed that every little detail had been thought of,... More

The hotel was warm and had a luxurious feel. It wasn't until the morning that we saw what a wonderful position the hotel has. The views from the breakfast area were amazing, looking up the hill. The gardens are immaculate as is the room we had. If I didn't know better I would say that we were the first people... More

Thank you for your comments. I am pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and the views from the pub - they are lovely! Our bedrooms are now over 4 years old so it’s good to know you thought they were newly refurbished as we do try to keep them as new. I’m sorry you thought your wait for breakfast... More

We arrived late Friday afternoon to be welcomed by the owner's mother - A lovely friendly lady. Taken to our room which was of a very high standard, with beautiful views of the hills albeit with the car park in the foreground. Booked dinner for the first night which was satisfactory. The owner's daughter Laura served at table. She was... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We did have a large group of campers staying with us that weekend and they were quite noisy in the bar on the Friday evening. Generally our camping guests are very well behaved and embrace the tranquil and stunning setting that we offer. We will look at our policies... More
