Very friendly hotel and pub. Food is good at a very reasonable price and all the staff make you feel welcome. We have stayed here about 4 or 5 times now and it always feels very homely. It is a very busy pub, serving meals, but food was served without much delay. No complaints whatsoever.

Seems like something from the 60's. room was very out dated and had sheets and blankets, instead of a duvet with a bedspread that felt dirty and a mattress well in need of replacement. Room was above the bar which stayed noisy until 11 pm. Food cheap but ok. People were very friendly.

Good value for money and great breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful and very close to the mere. On the downside it's VERY close to the church so the bells rang on the hour, every hour all through the night......

Our meal was terrible. Very disappointing as this was the first time we have had a bad meal at the Red Lion. It was meant to be a family meal with two children. This was made worse by having to pay the extra cost for a christmas meal.

Rooms are what you pay for. Small but fine for a nights sleep. Share bathroom but you have a sink on the room.
