We were happily surprised to see the awesome beauty of it's location! The breathtaking view of the mountains, the sea of clouds, the tea plantation will leave you open mouthed and all you can say is WOW!!! The rooms are very nice especially the heated blanket!!! A very welcome warm bed after a full tiring day of walking and sightseeing.... More

You have to try it to believe it! David was an amazing host and the apartment and rooms were clean and very comfortable. He is very experienced, easy to relate to and his very hospitable. Let's not forget the food my friends and I ate during our stay with David. My friends and I went to Taipei to continue our... More

My family and I stayed there in the last week of 2013. We had arranged for a pick up at our previous hotel and they were right on time. There is an extra fee charged for this and I'm not sure if they will always be able to provide it but the cost was worth it. They brought us straight... More

Yes, we returned to Small Swiss in less than a year and we stayed for even longer than before. We were that for 5 days 4 nights and we informed David to make some changes to our itinerary. Hiking, night market, temples and some sights were added in and the trip was way relaxing than before because it was not... More

YuJuan and David are awesome. Our room have the full view of sunset at Alishan. Fruits like apples, banana, grapefruit and orange are available at all times. Our family really enjoyed the guided tour by David to Yishan, Alishan and fenqihu etc

Having 16 family members to stay for a night in Alishan for fresh air and wood sightseeing. Never regret to choose Small Swiss as our home stay. David and his wife was giving a good hospitality and warm welcome for my families. Everything that you need is all in the house. Eg. Fridge, Oven, hot water n etc. Room was... More

We found this hidden gem on Tripadvisor and went there because of all the great reviews. We didn't want to go to Alishan because it seemed too busy and we wanted to relax while staying in the mountains. Small Swiss homestay turned out even better then we expected. The house and garden are clean and beautifully decorated. Large tea plantation... More

Small Swiss homestay is true to the homestay concept, where you actually stay in someone else’s home, and not a motel/hotel room (the owner literally stays in an extension house just beside). There are 4 rooms upstairs, which share a common living room downstairs for meals. There were courtesy refreshments provided at the dining area. The bed was particularly comfortable,... More

We only stayed here for 1 night cause we really packed our trip this time round. The homestay location was a challenge for us to look for but not that hard to find. We reach the homestay at about 9pm, the host was waiting up for us. The host was very hospitable and even guided us on where we can... More

First of all, I would like to thank Charlies for building such an amazing homestay in Alishan. For the price, the rooms and facilities in the homestay are great. But the best part of the homestay is the undisturbed view of the tea fields and mountain ranges from the rooms. My family had a wonderful time in Alishan thanks to... More
