Stayed at the Alishan Hotel for 2 nights in the new building on the 7th floor, the room was wonderful. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. It was a bit of a surprise to have to leave the car in Alishan itself, especially as we arrived in the middle of a heavy rainstorm, but there is a regular shuttle... More

From the pictures we saw of the hotel we thought this would be a very nice hotel, but when we got to our rooms they did the old bait and switch! We were put in the old wing which is old, scary and comparable to an old best western (at best). Definitely not a 4 star hotel. The room smells... More

Looking at some of the earlier reviews of this hotel, I wonder if we were staying at the same place! Our room was lovely - complete with a fireplace and picture fire to light if we wanted. It was warm enough without... There were two sinks and a separate toilet - very clean As for dirty carpets - didn't see... More

Stayed here for one night in Dec 2014. Being the most expensive stay in Alishan when compared to other hotels, Alishan House won't let you down as a well-built hotel with old history. Overall the room is spacious and clean. I got a bathtub with big windows you can see the views with the green. Breakfast cover wide variety of... More

An expensive place to stay for the standard of room offered but comfortable and adequate. The journey to and from Alishan and the rides on the mountain railway were fun. Getting up at 4am to see clouds was not inspiring. Breakfast on return was not good with little food left.

We weren't sure what to expect, the entrance to the hotel looked very nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. When we first arrived in our room we thought they looked great, they are large. But slowly we started noticing stains on the curtains and the floor. It wasn't something that couldn't be cleaned... they could, it just... More

If you want to visit Alishan and need convenience, this is a logical option. I cannot speak for homestays but this may be the best hotel in the area. It's located in the park and has a great view as noted in many reviews. The 7-11 and some dining options are available by hotel shuttle (every 15 -20 minutes or... More

We (husband and I and our 2 kids) stayed in a Quad Suite for 1 night at Alishan House II. The good: 1) The hotel is obviously banking on its location and seems to be the "best" hotel one can find in Alishan if your main purpose is to see the sunrise and walk around the Forest Reserve in your... Check into Alishan Hotel and they gave us the old block that was built since 1913. It was a little creepy at first because outside the room was a sign that listed two Japanese Governor Generals who stayed in the very same room in the 1920s. Didn't know whether to feel honoured or worried of their spirit.... Furniture was old... More

Stay at Alishan House II was fantastic! It was a newly renovated block with great view! The view of the Sunset in the near horizon is rather breathtaking! We stayed in a 4-pax room. The clean toiletries were well presented and suffice for the stay. The Staff was polite and friendly. The only disappointing item during our stay was that... More
