Your room will be very deep inside from where the bus or cab drops you off, so carrying your luggage (we shopped in taipei prior) and the insane heat/humidity was a very tiring task. Not much signage which made the "trek" even longer. So make sure you pack light, as you will have to carry it all back to the... More

Modern-looking with an interesting layout. What really spoiled an otherwise very satisfactory stay was the dank toilet that constantly had a wet pee smell. It might have had something to do with the summer heat or a broken ventilation duct. Additionally, the sink was oddly slanted towards the user, and leaked slightly with each usage. That the toilet also had... More

I stayed for a night here in one of the double-storey bedrooms available with three others. I had seen reviews on this place and the photos online tempted me to spend a night here in Jiufen and I was glad that I did! It was relatively hard to find the coffee place for check-in (with so many staircases and all)... More

Operatoolad I insisted on staying here despite my travel agent advising us against it adding that jiufen will be a boring place. On the contrary, jiufen is a quaint village that's full of wonderful surprises. And Windsor b&b is a such a gem. All the trouble of getting their emails translated into English by a friend of mine is all... More

We went for a week trip in Taiwan and stayed a night in Jiufen. It was raining heavily in Jiufen in December. Windsor B&B is located on the street not far from where cars could drop off guests. However, with heavy rain and big luggage, it felt like a long walk. The reception is also the cafe of the B&B,... More

Checking in at Windsor on rainy day. While the process of check in was effortless. Special thanks to Xiao Niu for helped us to take our big luggage bag from temple to the Windsor B&B (and he helped us as well during our departure day which rained as well). While I think the highlight of the stay will be the... More

I decided to make a detour from Taipei and overnight in Jiufen to take in the antiquated atmosphere of the town. I stayed at the 日光涵館 3 which was very spacious and nicely decorated. It was a duplex unit consisting of a bedroom was upstairs, with the living room situated below and a private balcony outside the living room. The... More

We stayed 2 nights at this 民宿 in Jiufen. The first night was spent at 涵馆, which is housed together with the café. The views in the huge room, which comprises of the living room, the bedroom, a lookout area (to enjoy the views) and also a second level that has a small living area with glass window panel to... We stayed at a room beneath the cafe, which is convenient to enjoy the breakfast and afternoon tea. But the room is not as good as it looks on the photos. The facilities are abit worn out. View from the rooms is blocked by buildings in front of you, though not entirely. Considering the price (NT3600+), I think there must... More
