We had high hopes for staying here, but the views are really the only redeeming quality. The construction quality is really low -- it's more of a retrofitted outbuilding than a B&B. Leaking roof, spiderwebs in the corners and between the floorboards (yes, the gaps are that big). The bathroom & shower area are both splattered with dirt and smelly.... More

This is the most memorable night stay in jiufen, taipei. This minsu is located at jiufen, they have different types of rooms scatter all over the area. We had a problem locating the reception even with a map on hand. We gave them a call and someone came to bring us over to check in. Pls be reminded that you... More

We booked a total of 3 rooms at 日光涵馆! Room 3,4 & 7. All 3 rooms have different entrances. Room 4 & 7 are more convenient & it's less than a minute walk to shops & restaurants! The rooms are not as fantastic as they look on the web. The furniture a look old & I was a little scare... More

I was staying in room no.7. We stayed in Jan 2015. The room was abit aged. Cleanliness was ok. At night the heater in the room can only heat up a corner of the room to 19degc, when feedback to the reception was told off why we didn't bring more clothes here to prepare to sleep in a 18degc room!!!... Its my first stay in jiufen and I went for the minsu stay that was easily associated to jiufen. I choose to hanguan1 which do not come with balcony but has a view of the sea. In my opinion, this is really just a average bed and breakfast with a good view of the sea and slope couple with good... More

A very typical Minsu where I believe the owner converted their house into guestrooms. We stayed at 日光涵館5, which is very deep into the shopping alley. That means, we walked almost 25 to 30 minutes pushing our small luggage, brushing against the other tourist along the busy Jishan Road . I must say this is not easy but after seeing... More

Your room will be very deep inside from where the bus or cab drops you off, so carrying your luggage (we shopped in taipei prior) and the insane heat/humidity was a very tiring task. Not much signage which made the "trek" even longer. So make sure you pack light, as you will have to carry it all back to the... More

Modern-looking with an interesting layout. What really spoiled an otherwise very satisfactory stay was the dank toilet that constantly had a wet pee smell. It might have had something to do with the summer heat or a broken ventilation duct. Additionally, the sink was oddly slanted towards the user, and leaked slightly with each usage. That the toilet also had... More

I stayed for a night here in one of the double-storey bedrooms available with three others. I had seen reviews on this place and the photos online tempted me to spend a night here in Jiufen and I was glad that I did! It was relatively hard to find the coffee place for check-in (with so many staircases and all)... More

Operatoolad I insisted on staying here despite my travel agent advising us against it adding that jiufen will be a boring place. On the contrary, jiufen is a quaint village that's full of wonderful surprises. And Windsor b&b is a such a gem. All the trouble of getting their emails translated into English by a friend of mine is all... More
