We only had one night in the reserved section (watchman) but decided to stay another night. Since watchman was full we decided to try for the south campground which is first come first serve. We were lucky and got spot 71 which is right on the river! The spot is hard to find because parking for that space was across... More

This campground is great because it is walking distance to the visitor center and shuttle station. Also, walking distance to Springdale, which has locally owned stores that you might need for your stay i.e.. ice, food etc. I recommend getting there no later than 9am to get a site. They tend to fill very quickly. We stayed in site #35... More

We camped here in early May and arrived at around 10.30 am. The sign at the front said full but we drove around anyway and found an empty site ( we might have just been lucky because I didn't see any other sites but it's always worth a look). There are flush toilets but no showers. You can get a... More

We arrived at the first come-first serve campground around 8 and with luck found a great empty spot (59 if you can get it has a GREAT VIEW). We really enjoyed our stay because of it and the price is so cheap. Of course this might be because there are no showers but there are ones available nearby at the... More

We were in the watchman campground for 2 nights and wanted to stay a third but they were full. South is first come first serve so the ranger said to try here. It's an interesting process to get a site but it works. We were told the sites were filled by 8 30 am the prior day so I got... More

My boyfriend and I spent one night here in a mini-RV in May. We'd spent the previous couple of nights doing dispersed camping on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land, but decided we really wanted to be in the heart of Zion for our last night in the area. The South Campground is "easy" in the sense that it's entirely... More

From the moment you drive into the so called park you know this is not going to be a good experience. The "pavement" that goes around is beat up and needed to be taken out 10 years ago. The so called campsites are dirty small areas that are so close that I saw two campers fighting. I highly suggest camping... More

After our great luck the previous day finding a site at the organised Watchman campground we had to move the following day to this campground (as its First Come First Serve), we were shocked at the difference. Here there is none of the even level well organised sites. The sites are a hotch potch of sizes and their is no... More

This camp is really well organised. It is also located right near the swimming hole where we spent hours enjoying the cooling water and looking out to the view of the canyon. Zion is easy access by the shuttle (summer only) from here and it is an easy walk to the visitors centre from camp too. There are a few... More

This campground is in a wonderful location just inside the entrance to the park. There is a shallow, sandy bottomed, lazy river that runs along the side that is perfect for cooling off after a hot day of hiking & the shuttle buses stop within walking distance. I'd recommend getting there around 9am if you want to find a good... More
