The cabins are cute and reasonable (65.00). Take cash or use the ATM.

I have stayed here in the past and still continue to stay here when I head up this way. The cabins do not have a toilet or shower in them, but you can use the one in the big cabin 7a-10p every day. There is an outhouse for after hours. We spent $65 for one night, which is very reasonable.... More

As another reviewer wrote, view this as luxury camping.... No showers or toilets in cabins, but they are available in main building until 10PM. Cabins all hand-built by owners out of spruce and show the work was a labor or love. Impeccably clean - always a chancy siutation in rural Alaska. Staying here makes day trips to Chitina and McCarthy... More

I have family up in Copper River and Kenny Lake area so I'm often a frequent visitor. Personally, I love the Golden Spruce cabins, it's ALMOST like real camping LOL. Sure if you love the luxury of running water and a flushing toilet you should keep traveling down the road tot he nearest hotel. This isn't a hotel, it's a... More

After a long ride (from Fairbanks, we arrived in rainy Kenny Lake at the Golden Spruce cabins. We had a nice cabin with carpet on the floor, a twin bed and sink with water (in another review, someone wrote how it worked). There was electricity also. The front of the cabin was covered. During opening hours (7am - 10 pm),... More

We stayed here the night before embarking on the McCarthy Road en route to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. We had a private log cabin, about 12' x 15', carpeted with a double bed, sink, heater, coffeemaker, nightstand & reading lamp, overhead light, dark curtains (important for Alaska in summer!), and cozy blankets. The cabin also had a covered front porch... More

Located on the Edgerton Highway on the way to Chitna, these cabins are brand new and located at a small general store, which has some food available. The cabin we stayed in did not have a bathroom and we had to use either the one in the store, or the outhouse after the store closed. The cabin was clean and... More
