My wife and I made an inpromptu trip to the Skyline Drive and booked reservations for one night at the Skyland Resort. We paid $214.00 tax included for our cabin type room (Unit 114) which was clean, comfortale and cozy. I thought the price was a litle high but it was a nice stay. The flat screen TV had about... We stayed at Skyland Lodge in Shenandoah National Park (mile marker 41.7 on Skyline Drive) for a weekend while we we visiting Washington DC. We picked up a car in DC, and it was a straightforward two and a half hour drive West to the Blue Ridge mountains and Shenandoah - a stunningly beautiful place...!! We stayed in one of... More

We had a Blue Ridge room which had 2 double beds, AC(which we didn't need), and a TV with about 10 channels. I had to stuff newspaper in the jam of the door leading to the back porch. One of the keys clearly wouldn't work. The bed was comfortable. The heater in the bathroom seemed to have a thermostat and... More

Being in a national park is no excuse for extremely worn room furnishings and a lack of cleanliness. We have stayed in the Bird's Nest cabin and also regular "traditional" rooms near the check-in desk. in the past several years. Although the location is great, the tattered quality of the rooms and pilling sheets make this a very undesirable place.... More

This property had been recommended by some friends, and they told us as long as we weren't looking for "luxury" we would certainly enjoy our stay. They were correct. We knew the rooms were rustic, so went in with no grandeur expectations. We stayed for two nights and everything was fine. We requested a king size bed, a balcony and... More

We have been coming to Skyline since our children were small. Now we return each year, many times with grandchildren in tow !! The views are amazing and there are still"doable" hikes for all ages. I especially like Limberlost and call it my spiritual renewal time !! The rooms are always clean and the food in the dining room is... More

This review is for the ‘Traditional Room’ and Skyland’s overall facilities. Bottom line: it’s fine for what it is and I’m sure most people would temper their expectations for a lodging facility on a national park. It’s a level up from camping. Lodging – My spouse and I stayed in a ‘Traditional Room.’ It was a nice space and offered:... More

The resort provided us with comfortable accommodations and a fantastic meal. The grounds are pleasant to take an evening stroll and explore nature. Deer walked around the resort in the early morning and the kids were able to get up close with nature. It was a learning experience for them and they are ready to return soon!

If you are looking for 5 star resort accomodations this is not the place for you. If you are looking for remarkable views on both cloudy and clear days and want to be close to nature Skyland gets all 5 stars. We saw bear, dear, hawks, vultures and had a wonderful view from our balcony. Sure the resort has not... More

We just got back from our first trip to Skyline Drive and Skyland Resort. We loved Skyland! If you are looking for a great home base from which to enjoy Skyline Drive, a place that is slightly rustic (but not in a cheesy way), that offers delicious on-site dining with a fabulous view, that employs eco-friendly business practices, and has...
