We booked in February 2010 for our stay in October and were told one rate and upon checkout we were presented with a rate that was $40.00 higher. This was due to a rate increase from regular pricing to the Blue Ridge Rate. No notification was given prior to our stay, but the front desk was able to adjust this.... More

We stay at Skyland quite frequently while doing day-hiking on the trails in Shenandoah National Park. In November, the park is quieter, most activities are finished for the year (ranger led hikes, horse-riding, and the like) and many of the trees have dropped their leaves. Skyland is the only place to get a room in the park. Look for bargain... More

My husband and I have been staying at Skyland Resort for several years. We usually go in April and November (before they close for the season). Skyland is a great location....everything from the food, accommodations, staff, services and of course the spectacular views. The hiking in Shenandoah National Park is fantastic. Skyland Resort is a great place to stay while... More

Skyland Resort is a great place to stay if you want to spend time hiking in Shenandoah National Park. The rooms are located in a wooded area that is quiet and peaceful. We have found the rooms to be both clean and comfortable. Most rooms do not have a tv (although you can reserve rooms with tvs), but we think... More

We have stayed at Skyland for years. It is a perfect location for hiking and provides good rooms, great views, and easy access to trails and good (Griffins Tavern) eating spots. We will continue to use this facility. It is a great value for the costs involved.

Skyland staff were personable and helpful. Buildings and grounds were well maintained. The lodge is conveniently located to several scenic circuit hikes in the park and sections of the Appalachian Trail. From the restaurant and lodge, we had Great panoramic views of the valley and a nice place to catch some awesome sunsets. Skyland is an excellent base from which... More

My 87 year old mom, Minature Schnauzer and I spent three nights at Skyland Lodge hoping to see different wildlife and enjoy beautiful fall foliage colors. Except for one misty morning, the weather was perfect. I was able to hike a few trails, while my mom and dog kept each other occupied. Each day began and ended with us sharing... More

I absolutely loved the Skyland Resort at Shenandoah Valley, VA . It is by far the perfect get away from "IT ALL" kind of place. Beautiful views at every turn and there was always a different path to follow one more beautiful than the other. This was our first time to visit the Valley and during the fall season made... More

If traveling through Shenandoah National Park, Big Meadows Lodge or Skyland Resort are very convenient destinations. While I loved the cabins at Big Meadows, the cabins at Skyland leave a lot to be desired. But, the staff was very helpful in letting me change to a standard room which are large and basic. with a nice view. No tv or... More
