I want to start by saying that the one night I spent here was the worst night of sleep I have ever. The heater was so loud, lots of creaking, paper thin walls (we could hear all of the intimacy going on next door), and there was also a very creepy feeling in the air as if it was haunted,... More

This is a cute little place with few amenities. Great places to hike and an amazing few. The staff here is very pleasant and helpful. The food is okay. We had a whiskey dinner which a special thing they were offering. The food for that meal was fabulous.

Father and son enjoyed a week at Shenandoah National Park in the Big Meadow Campground. The camp sites are large and clean and the camper has the chance to choose. One simply rides around the campground and takes the card with camp site number on it to the office. Hiking trails range from moderately strenuous to strenuous. The Appalachian trail... More

This resort is located on the Skyland Drive within the national park and we were booked in for two nights. Once checked in we went to our cabin, No.21 in the Stonyman block. The cabin blocks were given different names. Ours was situated at the top of the resort near the dining rooms and car park, no noise from either.... More

We decided to come to the park at the last minute and Big Meadows was already closed for the season. We hated to miss the opportunity so booked Skyland online the night before - process was easy and check in a breeze considering our late arrival. We enjoyed dinner and spent the next day on the trails and along the... More

My wife and I were looking for a quiet, romantic weekend. On arriving to the Maple cabin, my wife said it best, "George Washington slept here." What she meant was that the cabin was old - however, it was clean and well maintained with an updated bathroom, two full sized beds, a coffee maker, and no TV or phone (clearly... More

We did not stay here, we stopped got hot chocolate along our drive on Skyline Parkway. They had a gift shop and restaurant. Service in the gift shop was not very friendly but the girl serving coffee was. This whole place looked very, very old. It looked like a bunch of older cabins.

My husband and I went to see fall leaves (we live in Miami, FL-no fall leaves) and found dense fog and rain and an absolutely magnificent view and place at Skyland Hotel. View itself was very limited but what as seen was magnificent! Accommodations were rustic but very comfortable--warm and cozy. Restaurant was spectacular--excellent service and food wad was great... Room was clean and comfortable, a great view from second floor of Raven's Nest of the mountains and sunset. Bathroom updated and clean, though low water pressure. Service at bar and restaurant not city speed, but pleasant and attentive. Dinner in bar was tasty both nights - fish and chips and chili. Skip cheese plate, too much mediocre cheese. Don't... More

I get a kick out of other peoples reviews . . . maybe it's me who's off base. If you are looking for one of those fireplace, cosy, cuddle up places with a good restaurant and lobby areas . . . avoid this place. It is a beautiful location . . . if that's your primary goal . . .... More
