Just wish I could stay longer! The view from our room was gorgeous, and the pet friendly room was very nice. The staff were very friendly and seemed to enjoy being there. The taproom was nice with great entertainment as well.

We stayed only one night and the rest at Big Meadow- 10 miles away. At the end, it really has to do who serves you. Most were friendly and accommodating besides a receptionist and a waitress that were out way. On the overall, I would recommend it as the view (ask for second floor cabin) is magnificent.

Loved a long weekend trip To sky land. Had a greAt time hiking and it was so relaxing. It was so great to stay in a cabin and have a short walk or drive to hiking trails. We even saw a beer on the road

Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt. We took our 7 yr old son and had an amazing time! The views were AMAZING.Skyland has a good balance of having amenities but still feeling rustic. It was comforting to know after a long hike we could go back to our rooms , wash up, get dinner (at the main... More

The room was basic but clean and had a fantastic view from the small balcony. We spent the afternoon driving Skyline Drive, stopping off to take photos and had a bit of a scare on a trail when a bear appeared behind us. The food in the bar was OK, large portions, a fairly limited menu (Fish & Chips, Burgers,... More

We loved being able to spend two days passing through Skyline Drive by staying at the resort. My whole family enjoyed it entirely! We even saw a black bear scrambling over a fence while we were driving. Highly recommended!!!

I had lived in Northern Virginia for 13 years, and this was my first visit to Shenandoah National Park. I had always subscribed to the notion that the distance traveled was directly proportional to how unplugged and relaxed I would feel, but this visit changed my mind. I fell in love with the park at first sight ~ my husband... More

This was our second and third visit to Skyland Resort and I found it to be very nice. Our visit in 2012 was a great experience, other than the dining room. I found the food to be pricey for what you got although the quality of the food was excellent. Unfortunately, the lift device for people in wheel chairs was... More

I would describe the rooms as very "rustic". It reminded me of the old mom and pop motels we used to stay at as kids, with the key to the room hanging on the plastic key ring with the room number on it. When I saw it, I have to say, I was a bit skeptical, but even though it's... More

My wife and I have been here a few times and we really love coming to Shenandoah National Park. The rooms may not be up to luxury standards, but they are quaint and for the most part the people visiting the park are also pleasant, which adds up to a nice experience. We mostly come for the hiking and the... More
