As Brits travelling through the Shenandoah National Park, this resort was everything we could have asked for. The rooms we had were a little dated but added to the 'rustic' feel of the cabin up in the mountains. Basic but certainly adequate, the beds were comfortable and fans kept us at a good temperature so we slept well. The only... More

I was very satisfied with my visit. Loved the views from all angles. The pictures on the website do no justice. My 3yr old nephew enjoyed it as much as my 11yr old son. Not many places to eat recommend to take your own food but they're restaurant was ok.

Quiet with gorgeous views and friendly staff. Clean and relaxing. This was our first visit and we will return! We saw 2 bears while driving, and watched the sun set behind the mountains. It was a great ending to a 3 destination week!

Very relaxing stay on Skyline drive at the Skyland Resort area. We stayed in the Birmingham building and the young lady who serviced and cleaned the unit was fantastic! It was extremely clean and well maintained with amenities. The staff at checkin and checkout were very willing to assist and get you in to enjoy the unit and get you... More

This place is excellent! To give you a frame of reference, I'm someone who usually just books the best deal 4, 4.5, or 5-star hotel on hotwire or priceline for vacation/weekend travel ~6-7 times per year, and travels for business ~4-5 times per year. This was my first stay on-site in any national park. I booked a newly renovated premium... More

Enjoyed the mountain views, staff, relaxation, and the sighting of a mother bear and her 3 cubs. We have visited Skyland 10 times with our 5 children beginning in 1969. We celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary on 7/23/2015.

We capped our 10-day road trip with a 3-night stay at Skyland Resort. The drive was gorgeous and there were a lot of overlooks to get a great view of the mountain. We got there around 10 p.m. and one of the office staff who helped us check-in was very pleasant and helpful. We stayed at the Whiteoak room and... More

Loved staying at Skyland for our 2nd wedding anniversary! Loved being in the heart of Shenandoah! We enjoyed all of our hikes to waterfalls and overlooks! Beautiful park can't wait to visit again in the future!

We had a premium room at Skyland and it was neat and clean. The beds were comfortable and loved the big wall mounted HD TV. It is in a beautiful location. The restaurant lodge is in need a a serious refresh. Carpet near the entry-exit kitchen door was filthy. The food was ok but nothing special servers were nice folks.... More

We hope to be doing some renovations in the restaurant over the course of the next couple of years, like we have in five of the motel buildings. We hope you return to see what progress we've made! More

The Skyland Resort dates back to the early 20th century, when it was conceived as a rustic mountaintop "playground" resort for the upper middle class. So don't expect a luxury hotel up here! It was designed to be "rustic" and it is. As long as you come into this experience with the right expectations, you will be delighted with your... More
