No power or water hookups, but there is a dump station with potable water available. We have been coming here every several years since 1973; first with a tent, then a popup, then a motor home and now with a better motor home. The campsites are large, separate by foliage, and grassed. The largest motor homes can find a site... More

We went here in the fall to go camping and it was AMAZING! We camped with a tent on a ten site. The sunsets were gorgeous and I would highly recommend watching them. The sky at night is clear and can see so many stars. The sites are far away from each other to not feel overcrowded. I recommend camping... More

Me and my boys settled here for 1 night after 3 days & 40 miles of hiking the AT. It really was well laid out, clean bathrooms & great camp store with friendly staff. The lots were spacious and grass thick. Perfect to throw down 2 tents. Only downside is it f you approach from the pathway, it's a long... More

Drove S. to Loft Mountain shop and restaurant. The drive was magnificent and the staff there was great! Friendly and more than willing to help :) the prices are reasonable and the trail from Skyline to camp store was great fun for my daughter. There is good food and large selection of souvenirs for memories and gifts :) A PERFECT... More

My husband and I took our boys here every year and sometimes twice a year throughout their lives. We have since come here, now that our children are grown. There is a serenity and back to basics that in indescribable here. It is a less commercial camp ground than others we have stayed in. Beware, though, that they have not... More

This campsite, like the others in the Shenandoah National Park, is very well maintained. They are extremely organized as to when a space is vacant and occupied. It is the largest of the campsites in the park, but booking in advance for certain times of the year is definitely recommended. Bathroom facilities are clean and maintained. Campsites are clean and... More

I have visited here twice in the past two years (once alone and once with my daughter) and both times were very enjoyable. Each camp site is separated by trees/shrubbery so while you know you are not alone, there is a sense of privacy. The rangers were very friendly. Look forward to visiting in 2016!

This is a really nice campground. I've never been to other campgrounds in SNP so I can't compare to those, but in general, this was an excellent place to stay. The ranger at the front desk (Mark) was super helpful and friendly with check-in and nearby hiking trails. The campground itself was clean and well-kept. The campstore was really well... More

We stayed three nights recently (Thursday-Friday-Saturday) at Loft Mt Campground. We prefer state park and national park/forest campgrounds, because we don't need the pools and activities in the private campgrounds would rather have the quiet, rustic atmosphere of the public campgrounds. But some state/national campgrounds are better than others. We thought this one was great. It's very well designed, so... More

This was our second campground on our recent tour of Shenandoah . Having arrived at the campground we spoke with the wardens and were pointed in the direction of our pitch . Firstly , I have to say that the wardens were very friendly , knowledgeable and went out of their way to help us with a hiking route .... More
