Shenandoah National Park is one of my favorite parks. Been coming here for over 20 years. We always stay at Skyland at one of their lodge style rooms but I wanted to try something different. Lewis Mountain is more secluded and much smaller. Only a few cabins with a larger camping area. They have a camp store with supplies, no... More

My sister and I traveled to Shenandoah National Park for a weekend getaway to take advantage of Skyline Drive. We chose Lewis Mountain Cabins because we wanted a rustic experience. It was so charming!! They had everything that we needed. There was a fire pit, lit picnic area and CLEAN accommodations. Randy, the manager, was awesome. So personable and helpful.... More

We stayed in the bunkhouse cabin at Lewis Mountain. It rained really hard the first two nights and really cold but the little wood stove kept the cabin nice and warm. Make sure to purchase the Duraflame logs for the stove since they burn a lot longer. The cabin is really small but nice and cozy for a small group... More

Just spent 3 days at Lewis Mt Cabins, with a friend and our dogs. We enjoyed every minute. The cabin was clean and warm. The staff were friendly and helpful. We cooked using the fire pit and our camp stove, and hiked every day on a different trail. We wandered through Big Meadow on the deer tracks, and had a... More

I usually come to Lewis Mt. Cabins twice a year to stay in the cabins, this time I will say was something more unusual that occured and couldn't be more satisfied with the service. My 2 girlfiends and I had an accident on one of the trails in the park that required medical attention and the searh and rescue team.... More

I spent 5 days camping at Lewis Mt Campground. This was a motorcycle trip, tent camping, not in an RV or staying in the cabins. The experience overall was very good. This is not primitive camping as being alone without neighbors. Rather it is a developed campground which accommodates large RV's as well as tent camping, although the area is... More

The Lewis Mountain Cabin was perfect with a picnic table, fire ring and bear food box and garbage container. It is conveniently located to many Waterfall hikes and natural swimming holes. I would highly recommend it to any backwoods hiker. there is no WiFi but the cell phone works.

This place is not fancy, but it's full of history and in a beautiful location. Cabin was cozy and comfortable. Outdoor fire pit and picnic table under a roof was great when it rained! Will go again...

I'm torn, I don't want to give this campground a good rating because I don't want more people going there. At the same time, lovers of tent camping need to know how nice this place is! This is a small campground--31 sites with some cabins too. There are no water or electric hook-ups so RVs are a no-go. Hailing from... More
