We reserved Dandy's Cabin because we were told by the reservation office it had a kitchen. The website also says this cabin has a kitchen. When we arrived with 10 bags of groceries and found no kitchen equipment in the kitchen we were shocked and disappointed. The oven was even missing all racks. The sink had a bad odor. There... More

This is in the middle of the wilderness inside Sequoia National Park. There is pretty pound in front of the lodge. The property was quiet during our weed day visit. It’s much busier on the weekends and in the summer months. This is lodge style motel so it’s not luxury. The main lodge has the large dining room where they... More

Four of us travelled for two weeks toCalifornia in May 2009 and spent two nights of our trip at the Montecito Sequoia Lodge. The location is beautiful...the lodge and surrounding cabins are situated around a beautiful small clear lake and from the back deck of the lodge there is a nice view of the snow-covered mountain tops. The lodge is... More

The Montecito Sequoia Lodge is a nice place to stay unless you are used to staying at places like the Marriott, Hyatt, Four Seasons... I would almost compare it to a large B&B. The rooms are not very sound proof so we heard everyone coming and going up the stairs with their luggage. The room is plain, and if you... More

Wow. This was the best vacation of my adult life. I mean, I love the outdoors but what makes Montecito truly special in my eyes is how my children were engaged, entertained and cared for while I got to experience this stunning National Park at my own pace. Wasn't sure what to expect. I had never been to anything called... More

Speaking from a teen's perspective, I absolutely loved staying at Montecito! Overall- it's a fantastic place, the location is breathtaking, the staff is incredibly friendly, and there's always so much to do- I'm never bored while I explore and try new activities (and make lots of friends along the way!) I've been going there for the past two summers with... More

I'd only recently heard of family camps -- vacations where kids participate in camp activities, under the guidance of counselors, while parents can enjoy activities knowing the kids are well looked after -- when one of my siblings suggested a family vacation at Montecito. We spent a week there, 10 months ago, and my 6 year old daughter is still... More

Our trip was amazing! The staff was so friendly and outgoing. They made us feel like we were truly special. The counselors were great with the kids. I enjoyed yoga every morning outdoors with the majestic scenery as a backdrop. My kids call it the best vacation they've ever had. We'll definitely be back.

we visited the lodge which is set between 2 nat'l parks, kings canyon and sequoia last July. we took only part of a day to visit the parks because there was so much to do at the camp! it is semi-rustic along with updated amenities. you have a choice according to your budget. even the more rustic rooms had updated... We have stayed twice at Montecito before last summer. The camp changed ownership and our vaction last summer really suffered. 1. During the evening mountain hike, people were left behind at a rest point. These people waited for over an hour in the dark alone. The hike was poorly staffed, with only one guide, and numerous people got lost on... More
